Thanks for the resend. I did recall parts of this conversation. 😆

I was searching for this post for sometime today and I landed up on initiation post into India forum for the writing business in Nov'11. Can you guess whose it was ? It was yours Sam! It was for Geet. And the title of your post was Dream Interpretations. I was chuckling at that time because my mind had Freud and Jung coming up and was thinking who is doing this much serious analysis in the dying days of Geet. I just cannot believe that Sam, you got me into this writing business 😆 I had left it 15 years back !!

@Shri: This is totally like all those serials when the hero and heroine run into each other before they know they are the hero and heroine of the story!

Your chiffon dupatta fluttered in my face, long before I knew you, and I didn't even realise it! 🤣

So run across that sarson ka khet and give us a hug! 🤗

Now that we have discovered our common destiny! 😉

Shri I always love your comments u pick up things that sometimes some of us miss and u ask a lot of tough questions ab this show and the characters that needs to be asked and answered. But this current post u are a bit too harsh with him he isn't that bad he really can't help the only way he is we can control most of our actions but how do we stop our heart from reacting and this is what he does all the time he reacts from the heart. The only time we will be able to see a calm, rational person is if he blocks out all emotional contact with ppl if he don't allow himself to feel anything 4 any1 and that's impossible to do at the moment 4 him. But that being said there are 2 sides to the man 1 is extreme and the other has been want we have seen for the past few weeks calm, rational but there is always a feeling with him when is the monster going to come out of him. Watching his scenes with Krishna even though very sweet I always felt like a wrong word by Krishna may trigger something in him. He is a reactor that's why he is often so quick witted.

Now his bdo comment- the way he supported Krishna when her dad went to jail was 1 of mere support coz at the end of the day Krishna had to deal with her emotions herself and Pintu is going to have to do the same thing and at the moment he don't realize that besides support he can't expect anything else from her. Krishna even though she had him had to go through her own pain and so will Pintu and that statement of his she is now a bdo is in accordance with his role in her life he was there 4 support but he couldn't make her problems disappear. when she made that promise she was trying to do the same thing by promising she would be with him to help him but he is just too emotional at the moment to think straight let alone do anything else. Krishna to do her duty couldn't be a daughter and this time around Pintu is so emotionally that he isn't able to think as the person who is in love with and knows Krishna and he only sees himself as Ganga's son. Now Krishna is going to have to be there 4 him she can't leave him coz he said something to her when he was in an emotional state.

Now your comments ab him using his dads money to be with Krishna and even after he left home we don't know where he got his money from (would have been nice if they had shown a scene ab his financial situation after he left but now we are left to wonder). But we could also argue that since he was helping Babloo at the coaching center that he was given something for that and this was the money he was using to live on now.

Now the tough part of your post him not keeping his promise and I really don't know how to respond to this coz we all know that Pintu is loyal and he does seem like the sort of person who once he makes a commitment won't back out. But he has made 2 promises 1 without his heart but mind and the other he did whole heartedly and with full consciousness and in both instances he broke his promise. If situations changes a man's beliefs and conviction that person doesn't have anything and no1 can trust that person. Him breaking his promise to his dad we could understand it coz he really didn't want to get married to Pinky but he had given his word and it changed coz of the situation not coz of him- I would have really preferred him backing out completely than him backing out coz of what his dad had done. And now there is Krishna and even though we can understand his plight he broke her heart by uttering those words he promised to be with her forever and at the 1st hurdle he doesn't stand with her. For me I really feel when he said she tricked him it was ab the 5 minutes and nothing more – I am at a loss as how to defend him here though.

the last part ab him having to deal with the consequences of his actions and most times inaction totally agree with u. his temper, his shady ways he is going to have to deal with it and he is going to have to realise that just coz he is emotional he cant keep on changing the rules of the game for simply this reason alone. he is going to have to learn to stick to something no matter waht and i know he can do it coz when he sets his mind to something nothing can come in his way not even krishna

I think you have a detected real pattern there. For Pintu, rules and words are meant to be bent. He places the priority of getting something done for the right reasons as soon as possible, rather than getting it done the right way, even if it takes longer. Most of the time this works because he has the backing of his dad's name and money and his own physical prowess, and because we live in a world where things are hardly ever black and white. It is interesting though because though his deeds will get things righted in the short term they will do nothing to change people or their mindsets which should be a long-term goal. It's the whole idea of give a man a fish vs. teaching him how to fish. Pintu force feeds people what is right without giving them the chance to think for themselves or participate consciously. The best example is the little girl who got the DC's "autograph". That was for the ultimate good and it was effective to be sure, but he didn't really think about what he was teaching the little girl in that situationWe applaud his presence of mind because it comes out in the favour of what is right most of the time. I guess it took this same bending of rules having a negative effect for us to go back and assess all of the things we had applauded and realise how the pattern was always there and we failed to recognise it because it was doing good. I don't know if I am making much sense at this point.---

Please all understand that a criticism of Pintu is not by default a defense or glorification of Krishna. Whether Krishna has faults or not is irrelevant to this post as far as I can see as it discusses Pintu's character exclusively.

Shri, I remember your criticism posts of Krishna! I think, same as Pintu, I understood why she was doing what she was doing but I couldn't really approve of it. It is time for Krishna to give Pintu that slap that changes everything, I think. I hope it is a verbal slap but that might be too much to hope for in the context of this show. 😆

.---Sammy this was so beautiful to read this is so true ab him- whatever he has done might give immediate results but they don't last 4 long and the problem still remains. From the beginning he has taken the easy way out him not taking a stand on what he wanted to do in his life, him not wanting to tell his dad he didn't want to get married to pinky coz he didn't want to cause trouble was him taking the easy way out. Even when he had decided to not reveal his feelings 4 Krishna it was once again him taking the easy way out ' instant of telling himself that he would try to be successful so that he could atleast be rejected he gave up and accepted what had happened. Even during the wedding track he did the exact same thing he just gave up he didn't find a way out he just accepted his fate and it was just frustrating to watch him act this way

@red: I completely agree with this and I had made a post a long time ago (will see if I can dig it up) about how these two extremes in his life are sort of manifest in the conflict between TTS and Babloo. Before he found out TTS' truth, he was literally straddling the line between these two and his job in life was to maintain the peace between them and to try to reconcile the two extremes. This is why I am accepting his devotion to Ganga now, he was her kid, walked her path. This is also why I feel he went so long without unemployment because whatever he did, he would be declaring allegiance to either his father or his brother and he couldn't afford to do either. This is why his statements about figuring out "Pintu Singh" meant so much to me.

But unfortunately, before he could really figure out what he was, he became Krishna's piyaji. And in the last few episodes he acted as that rather than as that, once again, rather than figuring out his own stance on things.

I think this is why he has that tendency to break and bend rules. He defines himself according to other people and has not formed his own identity, his own set of principles and his own ideals. As long as he is following someone else, he can't be held accountable and this is why it is so easy for him to bend the rules. He is indeed a valuable ally to someone like Krishna but until he finds out what he stands for it is impossible to judge if they are meant for each other or not.

I was also thinking, while we are on the subject of Pintu's behavioural patterns, that there have been two times that things haven't gone Pintu's way immediately when he has cost Krishna a great deal. Obviously there is now, and then there was the time he couldn't get a job immediately. He barged into Krishna's office and created a ruckus, that too in front of the pompous DC! As much as Krishna's dream means to him when he is lucid, he is equally out of control in that regard when he is not. That does not bode well for either of them or the future of this relationship.

As for your second point in bold. I agree. I think some junk food is needed in order to stop this from being a documentary and we all accept that but just like they did with the stranger danger, there should be follow ups for all the entertaining wrongdoings that happen. This show is definitely more responsible than most but Pintu's violence is definitely a subject that will be dealt with, I feel later on.

-

-------that statement of him wanting to find out who PS was also meant alot to me and i loved the fact that he wanted to do that. but somehow i still find he hasnt got it yet coz his statement when he came back home after the wedding fiasco when he said that he realised how important his family was but he hadnt realised what tt had done to him and this is a big statement coz straight afterwards he went back into trying to be the center by staying and even when he left he never left 4 himself he left 4 his mom to make her proud and to prove a point to his dad so he hasn't found out yet what has happened to him and his life and krishna having a drama every second day aint helping. another thing ab him figuring out Pintu Singh when we speak ab ourselves we dnt really mention our surnames we always say just our names and somehow i feel 4 him to actually really change he is going to have to start thinking ab himself as Pintu just Pintu no Singh coz the Singh has an attachment to his dad and his family and he has to cut them of to find the real Pintu and not jsut the PS in him.
whenever i see a comment ab him being a follower it always upsets me coz this is not true at all he isnt under any1's influence coz he does make a conscious choice 4 himself whether he is emotional or not. furthermore just coz he is with some1 he still manages to retain his beliefs a number of times with krishna he has managed to be himself when he didnt want to go with her to Pinky's house or even when he had left home even though she explained things to him he did want he wanted and even in the beginning when he hadnt so much as choosen a side btw tt and babloo when he felt babloo was wrong he told him so.
when i had intially spoken ab the slaps in the show i had separated it from his character coz i didnt feel like he was a woman beater and he was always right. i had thought maybe coz there wasnt much control in his life he behaved that way but i have realised that this is actually part of his basic nature whenever anything dnt go his way he uses force or force feeds ppl common sense. he might not be a woman beater bt he is an indiscriminate hitter it dnt matter what your gender is if u dnt listen to him he will beat u up. sometimes i think that he is just lazy him not wanting to create a scene at his home but more than willingly to beat some1 up. he has control he can deal with ppl in a civilized way bt he doesnt want to exercise this part of him he justs wants to force them to do want he wants. i still feel that his actions against Krishna and Pinky where right but somehow the way he handled Ravi just showed him getting impatient he could have done more to convince him bt didnt want to and just grabbed him.
each time they have shown his violent side it has somehow made this character scary the level of violence he is capable of when he isnt in control of himself isnt right. watching him beat up the capable guy i knew he was out of control bt it was only when he had nearly punched krishna that i truly realised how out of control he was. even though he stopped himself from punching her he was aware that she was in the room near to him and the fact that he needed to see her to stop from hitting her sent chills down my spine. bt i will say this, this isnt pretty to watch bt there is a defintely plan by the cts for this character and i am really exciting to see how they actually deal with this coz there are alot of good guys out in the world who just cnt manage their temper this character could very well help them. when u see your reflection whether it is a tv character or not u start thinking and who better than KM do get this point across to every1 that violence aint the way.

@Sandia

Wowww What a Lovely post . That is why i always love 2 read ur posts , They are so beautifully written that gives such a good feeling . I almost aggree with ur points except one that Pintu is lazy or easily give up . I don't think he is lazy or is a man who can easily give up . He will try till the end , if he once decides 2 do it. But agar usne soch liya ki usse koi cheez nahi karni hai toh matlab nahi karni hai . He follows his heart. During marrige track he didn't said his feelings 2 TTS , not becozz he was lazy or he gave up but he didn't wanted 2 hurt his father and his father's reputation . In Ravi's case he was not impatient , Infact He was so much matured & calm in tht scene but When Ravi was not at all ready 2 come up with him evenafter explaining him , then he applied his usual DBPS way of dragging Ravi forcefully with him .

Surma,

remember that post from Brandon (The Future Lord) where you told the guy that his post makes you go vertigo. OMG I am laughing here remembering the post. Your comments were so cute and straight.
Poor guy! He enjoys being in that tight spot with all the spot light. But to be true, I go once in a while there to check his posts as I enjoy his criticism and sarcasm. Btw do you his most famous post ? It was when he scooped on HD Rain dance. The way he wrote was hilarious. He says he switched on the TV to see Mamta Banerjee and off flashes Indira Sharma instead dancing in the rain.😆
