Khan dost, once more!
First Preity Zinta, then Juhi Chawla 'is actor Shah Rukh Khan on a rebonding mission with old pals?

Actor Shah Rukh Khan seems to be in a mood to not just make new friends, (the latest being his upcoming film's co-star Katrina Kaif) but also bridge the distance with his old pals. At a recently held film success bash of old pal and actor Juhi Chawla, the actor came in to support and congratulate his friend. And if sources are to be believed then SRK wants his old pals back in his life.
Says a source, "SRK and Juhi have been friends for years, but buzz is, they had a tiff of sorts at the beginning of the Ra.One promotions, which put a strain on their relationship. The fact that Juhi's brother Bobby Chawla, who headed SRK's production team wasn't credited enough for his efforts especially since he has been hospitalised for the last one- and-a-half years, seems to have been the bone of contention. A busy schedule seems to have prevented SRK from being able to be there for Juhi, when she felt low about her brother's condition. But the two recently decided to put their differences aside and renew their friendship on a stronger footing. So be it for their cricket team or the success bash of a film, the two can be seen making efforts to put their friendship back on track."
But it's not just Juhi, other pals like Preity Zinta, too, got a glimpse of SRK's magnanimous side. "The two stars have always been very close and have worked on various projects. But they recently raised eyebrows when they, as owners of different cricket teams, took to donning each others' team jerseys. SRK also said that should Preity ever need help of any kind, he'd love to be there for her. Also the patch-up with estranged friend, filmmaker Farah Khan after the infamous spat with her husband, filmmaker Shirish Kunder at a popular lounge bar, proves that the star is in a mood to let go of all differences, and just be there for his pals wholeheartedly," adds the source.

It can get awfully lonely at the top. That's what Shah Rukh Khan had told Farhan Akhtar's character in Luck By Chance. And having lost a handful of friends over the past couple of years, Khan seems to have decided to follow his own onscreen advice. Having mended bridges with Farah Khan and more recently Juhi Chawla, the star has now extended the olive branch to Abhishek Bachchan. Mirror has learnt that Bachchan Jr in all probability will join the cast of Farah's next starring Shah Rukh, tentatively titled Happy New Year. Now, SRK and Abhishek have never been sworn enemies. In fact, they have worked together in Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna as well. However, the two actors have never been good friends either. Shah Rukh's equation with Abhishek's wife Aishwarya Rai had been a little rough. Since SRK dropped Ash from his home production Chalte Chalte, the two had maintained a distance. The rift widened when SRK and Gauri got dropped from the Abhi-Ash wedding guest list in 2007. But at one of the famous Karan Johar parties a couple of years later, the actors had reportedly patched up. But last year in May, when Abhishek graced SRK's house party wearing a Mumbai Indians jersey (that too when Khan's IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders had been knocked out of the tournament for the fourth consecutive year), a lot of tongues started wagging again.
Interestingly, Abhishek, despite the cold vibes shared with SRK has always maintained that the elder actor was like a big brother. A source close to the film explained, "SRK and Abhishek share a rather curious equation. However, now they are all set to work together. The project Happy New Year is turning out to be a reunion of sorts. First Farah and SRK made up and now SRK will work with Abhishek."
According to industry insiders, Boman Irani will also play a pivotal role in the film. And while the two leading ladies have not been decided yet, Vidya Balan may bag the role opposite Shah Rukh.
And though the exact date for the film to go on floors is not known, industry insiders revealed that Farah may get a five-six day window to shoot her first schedule with SRK before the actor moves on to Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express this October.
Despite repeated attempts, Abhishek and Farah remained unavailable for comment. Boman too did not reply.
