Actor Apurva Agnihotri, who is currently seen in Aasman Se Aagey, a fiction show pitched as the 'reality behind reality TV' is itching to get back into films. The
actor, who made his film debut with Pardes is currently working on some scripts. "I want make a comeback
to films as a writer-director," he informs.
In the meantime, the actor is enjoying his stint as a
TV producer-director. No, he hasn't turned a producer,
he is only playing one in the serial based on a dance reality show. Having pariticipated in a dance reality
show Nach Baliye, Apurva is well aware of the goingson. When asked if Aasman Se Aagey will dish out some
shocking truths, Apurva diplomatically says, "That is
a thin line we are walking and I must say it is brave on
the part of the channel to come up with
this kind of a show. Not everything is
rigged in a reality show, but yes
there will be a little bit of truth in
the serial." For instance, there
will be a track where DC, the
character he plays, chooses a contestant Meenakshi hailing from a
poor background, not only because she's a good dancer but because her background will help gain
sympathy and translate into better
TRPs.
Apurva, who was on an self-imposed
break of a year before taking up the
show - he was last seen in Sapna
Babul Ka Bidaai - feels that
unlike films, television is
not evolved. "The regressive shows still rule the
roost," he rues adding
that he stayed away from
serials because nothing
excited him. "All the big
shows that you are seeing
right now have been offered to me," boasts the
actor who spends sixeight months in a year,
travelling with wife and
actor Shilpa Saklani
