And to be honest I am so relieved because they could have easily made a huge mess of things but they didn't. Now for things I loved about the episode:
1. DC being sensible
I think for the first time, the DC was sensible in his approach to Krishna. They were able to have a rational discussion as colleagues and Krishna was able to convince him of the need for her course of action. She was very professional in that she gave a small dead line of one hour, just to make sure that what they were seeing was true (which she knew it wasn't). Like the DC said there is a difference between shak and sabooth but Krishna was able to convince him that she wanted just one hour to turn that shak into sabooth. I also liked the contrast between them. The DC's priority is to get the job done, while Krishna wants to get to the truth but the good thing is that he saw she was right in her decision and he allowed her her time.
2. The contrasting actions of the two brothers
This was probably one of my favourite things about the episode. I love how while Pintu went off in his unorthodox way, Babloo tried to cover the legal bases. While one prepared for the worst case scenario, the other refused to accept anything other than the best case. I have fallen in love with Babloo Singh more than ever today because he has a thinking head on his shoulders and he is so practical and no nonsense. Not that Pintu's method was less effective, just not attractive to me personally. But I like how each brother respected the other but went on their own path. It also showed how beyond the help of law TTS's doings are though that nothing really worked in their favour.
3. Bihari's Role
Even this was well justified today. I have to admit that when I saw his face, I was like, no the episode is so good so far, nooo, but then they surprised me. It made perfect sense for him to have called the press people because they were getting something out of it two, ie the scoop. Unlike when he manipulates the DC and the DC believes him for no reason at all, the press people had a lot to thank Bihari for today. So it made sense and sort of restored some dignity to the recently caricatured Bihari. I also like how he set things in motion for the hot-headed Akash to go back on his word. They also highlighted Akash's obsession with his image rather than his job and that weakness was so obvious today when he caved under the pressure of the press. He needs to learn how to handle them from our own Krishna because she has always been a pro!
4. VP is out!
To be honest I am much more worried about Krishna when she is separated from VP than when she is separated from Pintu. Today we see her already stronger for having her father back, his innocence proven and his honour restored. I love how she confronted the police and ordered them not to arrest Ganga because she had been promised an hour and she expects people to live up to their promises. She really did as much as she could, short of physically yanking the warrant and running away with it, to stop it from happening but there was really nothing she could do. True, she couldn't face Pintu but she did tell him with a firm, calm voice that she could not stop the police. I just love how this girl never minces her words, even when they are the hardest for her to say.
5. They totally convinced me!
I said a few days back when the promo came out that I would have to be really convinced of how this MU came about and I am happy to say that I am! While there was nothing that Krishna could have done, I can understand why Pintu feels cheated by her and being in the emotional state that he is, he lets anything spew out of his mouth. This is where he is the opposite of Krishna. In times of extreme emotion she goes completely quiet and says not a word. The precap, heartbreaking as it is, was also kind of exciting. Prishna needed some tadka in their relationship and this will be it.
Pintu will no doubt regret those words that came from a combination of guilt, for what happened to his mother when he had left the house and she begged him to come back, and the sense of being betrayed. Though it wasn't really Krishna who betrayed him, she is going to be taking the brunt, just like she does with everyone else. 😡 Good thing she has VP by her side though. 😊
