Housing in Mumbai has always been a concern,of late especially so for single actors.Societies dont want owners to rent out their premises to them given actors lifestyle,erratic shooting schedules etc.Apart from furnishing proofs and adhering to society rules,they are being looked at in a bad light after small-time actresses Maria Susairaj and Simran Sood were linked to the Neeraj Grover murder case and the twin murder of Karan Kumar Kakkad and Arun Tikku respectively.An actress on anonymity says,Since Simrans name has been reported,I am facing trouble from my house owner;he wants me to vacate the house immediately.We suffer because of these actors. Society is averse to the idea of renting out houses to actors who are bachelors.They think actors party a lot which is detrimental to the peace and harmony of the society.Whenever I have taken a house on rent,I have made it a point to meet the secretary in person and tell him that I would vacate the house at the very first complaint against me.Because of a handful of actors getting embroiled in criminal cases and controversies,people have become opinionated towards actors.
