Oh Bollywood Section, how I've missed you...The random rants, the endless gushing and tears of frustration.

I was just at The London O2 Arena for the Dhamaka concert and have never been more compelled to post something as I was today esp after reading some of the statements about Sonu Nigam not attending (which I can assure you are as genuine as Sunny Leone's assets). So forgive me for what most likely will be a love letter to Atif Aslam,

This guy was AM-MAZ-ING; so much so, it required one word to be split into three. If anybody knew about it, the concert was supposed to be a joint one between AA and Sonu Nigam (Insert expletive) where the latter had "visa issues" so couldn't attend. The O2 arena is HUMUNGINORMOUS (20,000 seats) and though it wasn't full to capacity, Atif Aslam single handedly managed to make it feel like it was.

The man has an unique voice and could well turn out to be an a*s personally but I was most impressed by his professionalism for being able to carry the concert on his own at the last minute. In fact I'm certain that apart from a choice few who were disrespectfully shouting for Sonu (who couldn't even be bothered to come) nobody would have wanted it differently. If it's possible I'm jonesing for more, even Drake didn't get me this pumped, couldn't have even if he had worn a tribal headdress.

In summary Atif Aslam is a legend and Sonu...well...has the name of a little boy.

p.s. Shout out to his band and Bollyflex...they were awesome!

What was the problem wrt Sonu? Why couldnt his visa issue be a genuine problem?

Atif Aslam sounds like a constipated horse... sigh.. what a monutmental waste of money.

i've heard good thing about Atif's live performances from people.. never seen him perform live though!

you Seems like Atif Aslam fan so blaming sonu ...

but its better to know the things before blaming anyone

so just bcz Atif was present there and did the show and sonu couldn't reach there, it made Atif a "Legend" 🤣

Official Press Release regarding Mr.Nigam's absence at the O2 in London on 22nd April 2012

Dear everyone,

This is the first official press release from Mr Sonu Nigam's office regarding his unfortunate absence in the much publicized concert at the O2 arena.

We shall keep it short, honest and to the point. Mr Nigam had categorically announced his delight in performing for the said concert and spread the word amongst his anxious fans on the 17th April. After their entire troupe's ordeal on their way back from Australia when their connecting flight to Bombay got cancelled from Singapore and they had to fly to Delhi and then reach Mumbai; they headed straight to the British visa office VFS in Andheri East, and fulfilled the official formalities as the promoters in UK had assured that the visas could easily be procured thereafter. Little did we know that we will reach a point where our time, our dates and most importantly our credibility will go through testing times such as this! In our 20 years of successful inning in the show-biz, this is the first time a promoter has failed to obtain visas for our entire group except Mr Nigam's! We are aghast at this unexpected turn of events.

We are still being civil in this entire scenario by not playing the blame game although the entire fiasco smells of a definite foul play from the side of the people organizing the visas for us, but if someone instead misleads our fan base, and all the people who bought the expensive tickets, flew in, insome cases, all the way from abroad only to see the headline act, Mr Sonu Nigam, and gives false information, it is only appropriate that we tell the truth from our own side!

We have given the option to the promoters to postpone the event and work on another date, viz 26th or 30th of April, or 26th of May, so the fans do not feel let down, and we still stand by it. All this despite the wastage of an important date and so much negativity from the promoter's side in the UK.

Hope we have made our stand clear. And we know that looking at our history and credibility, people know that this, and only this is the truth. For everyone's knowledge, every single member of our group has his\her passport stuck still in the UK consulate.
