Today, April 20, marks the fifth wedding anniversary for Bollywood's most popular and widely written about couple -- Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan.
A part of the Hindi film industry's first family, the younger Bachchan couple has pretty much constantly been in the news ever since they tied the proverbial knot.
As we wish Mr and Mrs Bachchan a happy anniversary, we have a look at the milestones in their marital life.
The wedding
Married in a lavish but fiercely-guarded ceremony, Abhi-Ash's big day saw media and fans gather around the house, hoping to get a glimpse of the couple.

First appearance as Mr and Mrs Bachchan

Following the wedding, the couple took off to Tirupati along with Sr Bachchans, Tina Ambani and Abhishek's sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda in a private jet to seek blessings from Lord Venkateshwara.
After the puja, the couple made their first official appearance as a married couple.

Sarkar Raaj

Abhishek and Aishwarya appeared in their first movie after the wedding -- Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar Raaj.
A sequel to Sarkar, the film didn't do as well as the first film and Ash was a new entry in the original cast.

Cannes Appearance

The couple made their first Cannes Film Festival appearance in May the same year as a married couple.
They attended the premiere of Wong Kar Wai's Blueberry Nights.

Ash paid a visit to the Seven Hills hospital in Andheri, a western Mumbai suburb before she was admitted to give birth.
She was accompanied by Abhishek, Amitabh and Shweta Bachchan.

Bringing the baby home

Ash brought her baby girl home after a week of stay in the hospital.
While Amitabh and Abhishek accompanied her, mom-in-law Jaya stayed back at home to give the new mum and her daughter a fitting welcome.
