Debate of the Day: New Tech Vs Human!!

Hello Everyone,

Today the world viewed the most horrifying event in the history of terror. Many people lost their most loved ones.

In today's Debate of the Day, let's discuss this sensitive but important topic.

How is the "NEW" technology helping us??

It is the technology and availability of material which is letting such tragic events to happen. As we are learning and are in process of making this world more advance and systematic, we are becoming more wild, and are becoming more hungry for getting more in less time.

Is science helping us in anyway??? Are the weapons and nuclear weapons protecting us in anyway??? Are we getting peace of mind, coz we know that we have a high tech alarm system set on home gates, and no one can cross them and come and kill us?? The race to earn more and more money, land and power, will this give us the guarantee that we will not be shot by a stranger, or will be killed in a suicide bomb???

Where is the world going to?? Aren't we going back to the dark ages, when we care less about others, but want to get our way straight by hock or crook? Wasn't it something which happened to man in early days.

I think Science is just there for the name. Science harm us a lot than helping us because we got all this nuclear weapons and bomb from science.. I don't think this weapons or nuclear weapons are helping us any ways because I never heard or saw use of this weapons to protect us or to prevent anything. 9/11 happened no use of this weapons there but only saw their use afterward like for War in Iraq. (what was the use there?)

when you watch news your peace of mind is gone just seeing bomb blast, suicide bomb, hurricane, and god knows whatelse. Science technology should help us with all this but still 9/11 happened, hurricanes come and what does the technology do? NOTHING!!! This high alert and so call technology didn't help us there..

Yes we got lot through technology but we lost a lot through this technology too..

The money doesn't help us too.. When we don't have money we can't sleep thinking I don't have money I need money and when we do have money we can't sleep too in just thought of how to keep the money safe.

In today's world there is no gurantee of what's our tomorrow. Do you think the victim in Mumbai knew that this is going to be their last day. I don't think so.

Well I remember this topic as we used to write essays in School Days on "Science : Boon or Bane" and always used to conclude that science is science. Its humans that puts it to good or bad use.

Technology is a good servant and a bad master.

Its technology today that made communication so easy. Else had we ever dreamt of talking to friends over phone for hours at @1/min. There are new technologies being created to generate power through Nuclear Atomic sciences which can promises to give uninteruptted power for years. I can list down thousands of such examples which made our life easy and enjoyable with the help of Science.

Its technology today which helps us predict weather. Though its funny that in India when they say it will rain most of the time we have sunny day and vice versa 😳 but its not technology failure but lack of upgrading new technologies. I remember when I used to work in my earlier company we had got the entire Tea Gardens in Assam GIS mapped to tell the weather of each Tea Garden through a foriegn Weather information company.

And as we Indians are smart and we do not have to look for weather when going out for work. Rule of the thumb: "Monsoon ka season hai.. Umbrella le kar hi niklo"

Okie coming back to the topic...

What happened yesterday certainly looks like an intelligence failure. We have to use modern day technology to prevent such tragedy like installing Cameras, Bomb detectors and various other modern day tools at Public places at the entry and exit points.

And being an optimistic person I do not think we are going towards the dark ages. Its just the test of time and a few such odd incidents cannot deter US towards ONE WORLD, ONE NATION. And very soon we will be flying to Mars and newer planets for holidays with the help of Technology.

As an individual, as an united group, a citizen we will PROGRESS!

in my opinion new technology is helping humanas well as it has drawbacks too ....! scientist invent technology for our betterment ...now it depand upon us how we take them ..for example interent (not a new invention butt for example it is best ) ..it depand upon us how we use it ..whether in good way or in worst one ...!

nice debate! i think science is good sometimes, what cannot be achieved by new technology. obviously i don't think nuclear technology is helping us really in any way! it only detroys nations worldwide!

yes, technology is helping but really it depends on where it is used! for example computer technology is a great thing, making 1000s of things easy, not only in educations, communications, entertainments but also in industiries. id these systems were not available in industry we wont be living as peacful life as we are right now.
but technology has also go a bad side to it! for example we use this computer system, but childrens is the major issue! there will be billions of games, millions of chatting like webs, and even unsensible sites which is just not inappropriate for childrens, as well as diverting their attentions from studies, it also leads children to do illigal acts, (4 example children are not allowed to go n certain site, but they donot know what is right and wrong!) they donot know the reason behind restriction!
children is just one of the issue! their are many other dangeorous issues behind technology. one of them relates to the enviroment. obviousely to run these technology, there is a massive amount of energy is required! which is obviousely effecting the enviroment!
take the technology used in science. science technology has saved about billion people's life, which is good side of it but again it can be dangeourous when it comes to x-rays and things these science tachnology can effect human causing desease like cancer!

in future however, there might be a problem, as we are all depending on our technology people are forgetting the natural way of dealing with things, lets just take my little brother for example! 😆 he wrote a story which was his homework, and when i was reading a story there were many spelling mistakes, when i asked him to improve it , he comfidantly without any regrets answers me saying 'my computer will do that for me! i'll type that story on the computer and computer will tell me spelling mistake.' if computer can do everything why do we need to study, 😃 if computer can correct our spelling mistakes why do we need to learn it?
of course we have to, what if for any reason computer dont support us?

really, technolgy does have a good and bad sides to it!

Well basically lyk it is God never created nything perfect..this applies not just to humans but to all living n non living things...if u luk around in the world around u every single thing has its own advantage n disadvantage..tecnology is not far behind in the race for being the most advantageous of Gods n mans creations.....

thus u,by far means,or ny1 else cannot say that tecnology is a bad thing...i agree maybe ppl do take advantage of creating wepons such as guns n other distructable device...but u have to luk at all the pros n cons...without technology i dun think ny1 wud be able to walk a mile to their office...i dun even think ny house wife wud have the heart power to even chop tamatoes by the old ways...

but aside all this i think technology in its own place has been proven to be a very big disadvantage for us too...more dangerous weapons...ppl r getting more n more hungrier...n if ny1s noticed its even creating a bigger gap b/w the rich n the poor...all though we think we r safe cuz of our alarm systems we never no how or wen ny1 can kill us......for e.g id lyk to share a story with u...

this story is abtr my ex-headmistresses daughters friend...this was a few years back that the girl was shopping for her wedding clothes..she was just abt to go home n was near her car wen a bullet fell from the sky n went right in her skull....it had damaged her brain badly n a few days l8r she died...l8r they found out that sum ppl had been firing guns for no reason n as they say sumthin which goes up has to cum down so it came down n landed on her head....

this is how weapons r being mis-used.....thats y to sum extent their use is not acceptable...

As far as it is for science...well tecnology has a great hand in the improvement of medicine...imagine if instead of robots we had to be tested for new medicines...how many humans wud die????n then again it also helps us in curing a lot of different diseases..imagine how wud ny1 now how to try n protect themselves from diseases such as aids n cancer??or even try to cure themselves??how wud a pregnant women no how well her baby is???

this world has really lost its glory....so if it goes in the world of darkness this is basically the fate of the universe...mankind had to go through all this n if this is gonna be a reason for it ending the world so be it...
