Part 11
The next day Maan was on his way to view a site.He remembered what had happened the night before.Suddenly,Geet had looked dazed.He was a littled bit tensed.He wanted to see her once,but why he didn't know.While he was waiting for the signal to turn green,he thought of taking the long cut so that he could pass by Geet's college.He told the driver to do so.The driver was surprised as they would be late if they go that way,but then he couldn't argue.
The car halted at the entrance of her college.He could get a full view of the college campus.He saw Geet with some of her friends,chatting,laughing 'So she has come to college for a change.Good!'. He kept looking at her.He felt a relief that she was alright.
Maan had reached the site.This project was supposed to be a dream project of Yash as it was for one of their oldest clients.They wouild finalize everything & would start work as soon as possible.Maan was looking as dashing as ever.The client's daughter Supriya was there with him.She was very happy .She loved Maan & she saw this as a chance to get close to him.She was dressed in sexy outfit.When Maan saw here,shockingly he was not amused.He remembered Geet how she had tried such a dress in the mall & that she had pulled her in the trial room.He smiled & Supriya thought that he was smiling at her.
Geet & her friends were seated in the college canteen and as usual one of them had brought an old business magazine with Maan on the coverpage.Interestingly it had the same interview which Maan had given when he had taken Geet to KC for the first time.Seeing his pic,Geet's heart missed a beat,
"You know what there was a mystery girl with him that day.I envy her.She is so lucky yaar." said Priya.
The others agreed with her & started drooling on his pic.Geet was irritated. She didn't want to think of him.
"Oh Come on yaar,is it necessary to discuss Maan always?"
The others looked at her in surprised."Why Geet?Is he you boyfriend?" All laughed
"Tum log se na baat karna hi bekaar hai"
"Okay fine leave it!Do you know that Priya is a palmist?whatever she is predicting is coming true today!"
"Ha!As if i am gonna believe it!"
"if you are not believing me,then let me read you hand!"said Priya
Geet stretched out her hand,still laughing.Priya after looking closely said, "okay,the person who really loves you will call you now within minutes!"
Unexpectedly the thought of Maan came to Geet's mind.But she dismissed it thinking why would he call her out of blue? "What rubbish!"
"Dekhte hain" Priya was confident
On the other side Maan was satisfied with the site for the project.He decided to tell his dad about the same.But accidently he dialled Geet's number as unconsciously he was thinking about her.
Geet phone rang.All eyes were on the screen which flashed 'Maan'.Geet was taken aback.She forgot to breathe for a moment."How is it possible?He doesn't calls me at this time!"
"Kahin yeh Maan Singh Khurana to nahi?" All laughed again hearing the remark.
"N-oo" Geet said.
She slided away from others and picked up the phone.For a moment there was silence.Neither of them spoke.For the first time Geet was finding it difficult to even say 'hello' to him.She was scared.'what's wrong with me!',she thought. His voice came
"Hello???"
"Ma-an" Geet shivered a little.
"Geet???" Maan was surprised.There was again a silent moment.'Instead of calling dad,i called her!'he thought.
"Itna sannata kyun hai bhai?" he asked
Hearing that,Geet was back to normal.They can never indulge in serious talks,that's for sure,she thought.
"Kya aapko yahi time mil tha call karne ke liye?Now I have to answer some folks after this!"
"Are you in midst of some lecture?"he was cautioned.
"No.I was trying some new dishes in the canteen.How I love food!"
"Pata nahi college mein canteen hote hi kyun hai! You must attend some lectures.After that I will book an entire restuarant if you want!"
"Really?Yummy!Abhi toh I am not feeling like studying.You know what..."
Geet was in full convo mood now.Maan knew that whenever the topic of her interest arises,she would never stop.Geet knew that Maan was the only one who would listen to her every word without drowsing.Even her parents sometimes get fed-up due to her constant blabbering.Earlier Maan used to pretent listening to her but he now he loved whatever she said,whether it made sense or not.There was another call coming in but he sensed that he didn't want to stop her.
"...and the prof wanted me to supervise some work but i don't think so i will be able to so & if something goes wrong,the blame is on me!! How cruel!"
"Yeah!It's a NON-GEET-ish thing to do some responsible work" he laughed.
"I mean...yes...how can people even think of me for taking up responsibility!"
Maan was shocked.He thought that she will be angry with him for his remark,but she agreed with him.He decided to get his ears checked.
"By the way,was there anything important you called me?"
Maan stammered a bit. "Was just ensuring whether you were still sleeping"
"Ha Ha! very funny.Waise kal aap neend aayi?"
"Haan aur tumhe?"
"Thodi Thodi" Geet didn't know why she told him the truth.
Maan was just about to question her of that but just then Supriya called out to him.Geet heard that.
"Who is this woman calling out to you?Where are you?"
"Oh! i am at a site.I think there is an important call for me.I will speak to you later."
Maan rang off.
"Now who is this third party intruder?Pata toh lagana hi padhega!And if there is something wrong,there will be a cold-blooded murder!!!!!" Geet braced herself.Geet knew Maan does have a lot of female clients but this time she didn't like it at all.
Maan's assistant handed him the other call.
"Dad?"
"From so long i m calling you.You seem to be busy somewhere else!"
"I was about to call you---"
"Don't give me those excuses Maan,you know I have been waiting for your call!"
"I am sorry.I will take care next time."
"I hope you do!"
Yash rang off.Maan was upset.How did his fingers dial Geet.And anyways he could have excused himself but he couldn't do that.There was something wrong with him...with both of them to be precise.Maan decided not to be influenced next time!Never!.
Geet decided to attend the first few lectures.But her mind was elsewhere.She wanted to go to Maan.It was fun to be with him.And she was also supposed to find out more about that girl.
