Seriously, we are so tuned to hearing newly weds calling their sasu ma's as maa...I mean it is not that easy to call a lady maa suddenly from day one...and this so practical...I remember myself at times calling my Mil Aunty by mistake--- till a few days after my wedding...and she just ignored it. and believe me, I have always been quite mature for my age...😆😆Originally posted by: anupriyamishra
Thank God Arti is not always saying ' Jee maji ' to her saas as typical bahu of the tv do. And one thing more did you notice she never called Gayatri Maa
So true...even a small fact that yash found it really inconvenient to not sleep on his side of the bed so true...I mean all of us have sleeping habits and again unlike other serials...they didn't show mahan pati's or patnis chaning their routine so easily without even the feeling the discomfort... even paridhis' character is so real...pretending...real life bahus do it many times...to give in on small matters to make their mils happy (getting up early, participate in rituals)...keeping arguments safe for larger issues and at the same time...having those self talks like...what pari had yesterday about mil and her traditions... to take out the pinch/frustuation...it is so real...The fact that the characters are so real and natural is the beauty of this show, something that sets it apart from all the typical saas-bahu soaps out there.
Aarti and Yash are both extremely relate-able characters, and not just them, but the entire supporting cast has been portrayed very naturally, these are the kind of people you have seen and encountered in real life, and this adds so much potential for character growth. These characters can never get stagnant or start getting regressive because there is so much to build around them. Aarti and Yash both have glaring flaws, something that the writers have been showing from the get go, and this is especially obvious in Aarti because like you said, for the first time we're see a bahu on Indian television who is not shown as a 'sati savitri', who miraculously from the first day know exactly what to do and what to say to create a perfect image of herself in her in laws eyes. Aarti has been making one blunder after another ever since she stepped into the Scindia mansion. It shows that she in a different environment and that it will take her time to get used to her new house and the customs and traditions of it. Also, Ansh's presence adds a delicious twist because when you have a young child coming with you in a new place, your priority is going to settle him first and then try and impress your in laws, highlighting the difference between a Punar Vivah and a first marriage!
And even Paridi, who is earning brownie points in Gayatri's eyes, it's not because she is perfect, but because she is using the support of her husband and then her bhabhis to create a good impression, and she has own very vocal thoughts about what she thinks about all the traditions and rituals. I commend the CVs for taking this route, for keeping it real, because it makes us look under the skin of the characters to try to better understand them. Three dimensional characters are almost impossible to find in soaps, so it's refreshing to see some who are not black or white, but rather a gray shade in between!
