:O Wow. i didn't realise there were so many Bengalis. I'm in the middle lol
My mum is from Netrokona near Mymensingh and my dad is from Jamalpur..though both fall in the Dhakha division neither speak shodho.

It's sort of a mix, and I'm totally pathetic when it comes to speaking Bengali.

What are you? Rarely find people out of Sylhlet here.

Edit: Shubho Noboborsho! (I didn't know you can say Nababarsha too 😆...and I only learnt the greeting last year 😆)

I have come across a lot of Bengalis in my time here on IF 😆 so not surprised to see so many here 😛

AAARGH dammit! :(

I got 53 out of 60 in the test my teacher conducted today... I should be happy, but I made such silly mistakes by ticking the wrong answer when I knew the right answers :( I would have got at least 56.25 if I just read the questions properly.

Anyway he said that anyone who got above 45 would surely get above 170/200 in the actual exam, so lets hope :)

I'd categorize myself as the Sylheti type ^-^ Although i must say my Bengali is decent. I'm on the borderline - not too good not too bad. lol. Your right i have only come across 2 bengali's here on IF who are from Sylhet. 😆

Arwen. Shubho Noboborsho is a greeting in celebration to the Bengali new Year, which is today :) In my past experience i have met other bengali's but not in quite a big number 😆

oh and shad's topic was very humorous! I had a good laugh. LOL.

I can comprehend with you lol i have made similar mistakes in the past. It's damn right annoying when you know you could have answered the question right but eventually you did not. I'd say 53/60 is pretty good! So you have nothing to loose.
