It all started with 300 Rupees (Part 5)

WHERE IS KHUSHI? WHERE IS KHUSHI? ASKED KARAN

******end flashback******

Karan's question brought ASR back to present….ASR was still staring at khushi who was at the shore, all by herself….. Karan followed ASR's eyes to find Khushi at the shore…..looking up the sky….he ran to her, ASR saw Karan run to khushi, HIS khushi, he wanted to stop him but he didn't. He knew khushi would rather talk to Karan than him right now…..watched them from distance……he saw Karan holding her hand, he couldn't hear them though…..he saw Karan trying to console khushi, he was about to hug her but khushi stopped him…..he didn't know why that made him happy….he was still being so selfish….he should be worried about Khushi….not himself…..he thought….

Karan came back towards ASR and said "she is very upset right now, she doesn't want to talk to anyone, we should go inside and wait for her to calm down", ASR was still staring at Khushi…… Karan asked "do you guys know each other?", ASR continued staring Khushi without answering Karan, Karan was interrupted with a phone call, he was about to ignore the call but 'it was important', he left to answer the call..…..Arnav couldn't take this distance between them anymore…..he started walking towards her….

Khushi didn't see him coming, her back was facing him, he touched her shoulder, she got irritated and said "Karan, I told you to leave me alone, I don't want to talk to anyone right now", just when she said that…….she felt him…..felt his presence in the air…….she realized it was Arnav….not Karan….she turned around….there he was…..standing…..

She was furious….at him….she screamed "I don't want to talk to you right now, please leave….leave me alone….why did you come here……can't you ever let me live peacefully?……I was fine with my life……why did you have to come back? What do you want from me? Why can't you leave me alone…..she grabbed his vest…..squeezed it with both hands……buried her face in his chest….started weeping……very hard……he could feel her tears on his shirt….Arnav couldn't take this anymore, he didn't care at this point if she liked it or not……..he wrapped his arms around her……his fingers touching her suave skin…..his body against her…….he embraced her…..tight….very tight……

There they were…..Arnav and Khushi……Khushi and Arnav……embracing each other……supporting each other….feeling each other…….touching each other…….needing each other…….forgiving each other…….feeling complete the perfect way…..with the five elements of life…..sand……bonfire…….sky……..ocean……and……air……Arnav wanted to hold her like this to eternity….he felt complete with her….he felt alive with her…..he hadn't felt like this forever……..since the last time he had seen her….

*****Flashback******

THAT HORRIBLE NIGHT (Part 2)

He was holding her by the wall, she was still talking, or getting mad, he couldn't tell…. he barely heard what she was saying, all he could see was her lips…..moving….her lips…….succulent…..wet lips…..his heart started racing……he felt like he was about to lose all his senses…..he felt the urge to touch her….feel her lips…..feel her body……hear her heartbeat against his…..he wanted her……he wanted to make love to her……wanted to claim her…….wanted to make her his…..he covered her mouth with his lips…..hard…….he kissed her…….with passion……..with love……with desperation……with hunger….with power……with demand………sucking each and every part of her lips…..biting her lips……tasting her lips…..her lips were soft……wet……perfect…….

Everything was hazy……blurry…..his head hurt with severe headache……why was he having a headache? He thought to himself……what was going on…….he could barely open his eyes……the headache was making it harder for him to concentrate…..he pulled himself up…..he looked around…..he was on his bed……what was going on? He hasn't slept on the bed for a LONG time now…..he looked around to find Khushi…..she wasn't there…..what the hell was going on….the terrible headache…..the blur….khushi missing from the room…..his distorted thoughts….WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?? He banged his hands on the bed in frustration….something pierced his skin…..he turned to check…..it was a broken bangle…..red bangle……khushi's bangle…..what the hell was going on……he couldn't remember anything…..then suddenly it hit him…..he looked at the wrinkled bed sheets…..khushi's broken bangle……bloodstain….khushi missing…..

He got out of bed……ran to the bathroom….she wasn't there…..to the poolside….she wasn't there either……ran downstairs……asked everyone if they had seen her….everybody said 'no', before they could question anything……he ran back to his room…..hit his knee on the white table……what was that….? He wondered…..looking at a green leaf…..on top of a folded piece of paper…..he picked it up….opened it….it was a letter…..for him….from Khushi….

Arnav Ji,

Good morning, if you are reading this letter that means I have left you….forever! I am sorry for not waking you up, you were in deep sleep, I didn't want to disturb you, our six month contract marriage ends today so I had to leave, I am not taking anything that wasn't mine, all the jewelries, clothes or any other gifts given by your family are still in the closet. Your mother's Kangan is safely kept in the locker, I know it's precious to you. I didn't deserve to wear them, maybe one day you will find someone who actually deserves to wear it, without any pretense. As I had asked you yesterday, I would appreciate it if you never told Jiji the reason why I agreed to marry you, it will break her, and you are not going to get anything out of her sorrow, so please, I beg you, don't tell her anything. Please take good care of Di, she needs you, make sure she is taking her meds on time and resting enough, tell Naani I said sorry, I couldn't be a good daughter in law as she expected of me.

Last but not the least, please take care of yourself. You will probably wake up with a headache, you were drunk last night, I have kept pain killers on the end table, please take them. Now that I am not going to see you…..ever……some things I would like to tell you……I did love you…….I always have……for how long?, I don't know……since when?…I don't know….but I did……please don't try to search me……I know you have the power to do so, but please don't, for my sake, after what happened last night….I don't think I will be able to…….anyway, you should be happy that I am out of your life…finally! I wanted to leave a red rose as a symbol of my love…..for you……but again…..you don't touch roses…..you touch leaves…….everyday!

P.S. I have left my mangal sutra under your pillow, there was no reason for me to bring my contract mangal sutra with me……maybe someday someone would also want to marry me out of love NOT compulsion

He remembered he had kissed her last night…..but everything else was still hazy…..he couldn't recall anything after that….did he….FORCE himself on her? He was trying to remember……but couldn't….. NO…NO…THAT CAN'T BE…..he screamed! NOOO, he tried to convince himself……. "I couldn't have done anything like that…..not to her….not to Khushi….I love her too much to hurt her like that"….but he was drunk….he remembered…..still!……he thought "I don't think I can forcefully….NO….THAT CAN'T BE…….how could…I?…..Did….I…..actually……r…a….p…..NO THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE, he punched his fist on the wall……He was disgusted…..from himself….for ever thinking he loved her….for ever having feelings for her…..you don't do this to the person you love……she did the right thing by leaving me….he thought….I don't deserve her….her love….her innocence…..NO….she is right…maybe she will find someone who will actually LOVE her….not blackmail her….NOT force himself on her……she is right….I shouldn't look for her…..what am I going to say to her EVEN if I find her….how will I face her…..no more throwing things….no more anger……just shame and repentance……ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA went numb…..holding her letter in one hand and the leaf in another! Profound silence took over his room…..HIS LIFE….!
