Few days later the Khuranas shifted to their old but renovated house.The marriage was fixed three months later as Geet was to appear for her CAT exams & Maan had some important dealings.In a way,Geet was happy that atleast she got some time to think over the matter but Maan was not...He didn't care of big wedding bashes but wanted Geet to become his wife as soon as possible but that was not happening as of now.
Maan stood near the window of his room which faced a beautiful garden.There were many fragrant flowers & butterfly hovering on them.The breeze had it's own rhythm swaying in any direction without any restrictions...

Yash Khurana was eyeing some of the latest books which he had bought for his library.Usually he loved collecting all kinds of books but that day his mind was elsewhere.The words spoken by his mom kept piercing his mind over and over again.He had tried a lot to coax her but to no avail.
Just then Maan made his way to the library.He sensed that something was wrong with his dad.He looked sick & something was bothering him.
"What happened dad?You called me?" asked Maan.
"Yes" Yash answered in a mild tone.
"Anything serious?You ought to be happy dad.I have successfully completed two years as an M.D of KC.Dadi is also very happy with me & i am sure,i will soon be declared the owner of Khurana Construction."Maan said in an excited tone.It was indeed a great achievment for him.
Yash sighed, "It's her will that bothers me beta"
"Dadi's will?Unhone vasiyat kab banayi?" asked Maan surprised.
"I went through the contents of the will & there is only one condition which you need to abide if you want to be the sole owner of KC. "
"What condition?"
Yash paused for few minutes.Then he spoke,"You have to marry Geet Handa,your childhood friend."
Maan was dumbfounded.He did not deny that sometimes he thought of Geet,but that does not mean that he would marry her.
"But why dad?Why i need to marry anyone?Can't i alone look after KC?"Maan was shocked.
"I know beta,even I tried to argue with her,but she doesn't listen to me.The net worth of Khurana Construction is around 4000 crores.She feels that if this money fell in wrong hands,then we will be doomed.Girls of today's age run after money,she doesn't wants you to be in such sort of situation."
"But why only that girl?We haven't seen her for 15 years.What gaurantee is there that she won't be like other girls?"
"I made your Dadi see reason that Geet is an ordinary middle-class girl.There is no comparison between you and her,you deserve a girl like you who is successful but Dadi is adamant." Yash banged his fist on the table in anger.
"I will not marry Geet or anyone.If Dadi doubts my ability,then it's her problem not mine!" Maan said with confidence.He prepared to leave.
"You have to marry her otherwise--"
Maan stopped.He turned to look at his dad. "Otherwise what dad?"
"Otherwise your brother Dev Khurana will be the hier of KC."
Maan couldn't believe his ears.That was the least he had expected.How could Dadi even think of that?he thought.
Yash continued, "Maan,trust me, even i don't want this to happen!.Six months ago Dev chose to marry against your mom & my wishes.I had told him not to marry that girl but he did not listen to me.And as expected,Dadi had no problem with Dev marrying that girl.She thought that the girl was nice.Dev was aware that I was angry with him so he left the house and went away.Good!" he took a breath and then continued, "If he gets the property then there will be nothing left for you and me.So Maan,please understand!I want to see you as the owner of KC & not him as i know you will not do anything against my wishes."
There was a moment's pause. "Right now,I will go and speak to Dadi,i am sure she will listen to me!."
"Wait Maan!" Yash stopped him,"It's of no use! but beta i promise you i will try my best to persuad her to change the will but even you need to co-operate.Work harder so that Dadi feels that you can handle everything."
With a heavy heart he agreed.It was hard for him to believe that his future depended on an ordinary girl like Geet.If marrying her was his way to the crown,then he would do everything to fulfil his dream.By no means the property can go to Dev!

Maan remembered word-to-word of that conversation.It was very much necessary that Geet fell in love with him else at anytime she could back-off.When he had seen her for the first time after his arrival here,he thought that she was a shy girl & that she would agree to the marriage seeing him.After all who doesn't want all the richness in ones life.But he was wrong,she did not care for money but the character of the person & he had the image of a womaniser in front of her.
They had almost spent an entire week together...fighting!Be it at any hour of the day,morning,evening or even midnight.Once late at night when he went to the kitchen to drink some water,he found her sneeking into the fridge for some chocolates!!!.He had caught her red-handed but then ofcouse they fought! so much so that he had to cover her mouth with his hands and pin her to the wall.And then a long stare...angry stare!.The pale moonlight made it's way through the window and fell on her face.She was innocent & behaved like a child.Dadi was right Geet had something in her which made her different from others.He always told himself to be cordial with Geet but then she would make things so difficult for him...
She was one girl who got on his nerves.But now thank God he had shifted to his house.At any cost,Geet has to fall for him.For the first time,he thought that it would be difficult...
