Some reflections that i did not cone across so far on the forum...
In the original b&b story the prince got himself cursed due to his own arrogance, ego and bullheadedness and had to lead the life of beast... He was granted a limited period of time to redeem himself by winning the yrue love of a lady before the very last petal of the magical rose wilted away...and at the end he slmost her but she chose to come back to him for love, just in time!
I think this what was hidden behind the obvious sybolism. That Arnav may almost run out of time to redeem himself and Khushi might almost leave him for good...but finally Khushi will choose him over everything and everyone else and come back to him for love and a happily ever after...
