nirvanlove & znursingh are annoying.
First of all, this is the Internet. The constitutional rights you are speaking of do not apply because, if you hadn't noticed, the internet is global. I'm sitting here in the United States, using this website; I'm not bound by, nor do I gain freedom from, India's rules or its constitution.
SECONDLY, none of your arguments are valid. Nobody likes to hear such things, but you are completely and utterly powerless on this website because the moderators have full power. They represent this website - the creator of this website vested certain powers in these moderators that you do not have.
Here you are complaining about not being able to have 'freedom of speech,' etc. etc. Then, um, why did you check a box, when signing up for the website, claiming you had "READ & AGREED TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS?"
Obviously you lied. You never read the terms and conditions. If you had, you'd understand that you HAD broken multiple rules of the website. You do not have the rights you are claiming because you signed them away once you checked that box. You agreed to abide by their rules and then blatantly disregarded them and "demanded" more rights as if this Internet website for some reason plays any sort of significant role in your everyday life. You're not Martin Luther King Jr., or Mahatma Gandhi, so please sit down and act normal. You're not saving any lives by doing this, just causing headaches for everyone reading your posts. If you didn't like their rules, why did you agree to abide by them? In fact, why did you even sign up for this website in the first place?
Also, I quote from znursignh, "You've chosen to be a Moderator-presumably no one held a gun to your head & forced you to be one!!!"
Yes. The same way, you've chosen to be a member here. Nobody held a gun to your head & forced you to be one. (Hypocrisy hurts when someone else practices it, right? Then maybe you shouldn't practice it yourself.)
In fact, if you read the Terms and Conditions even more closely, you will read the following:
- India-forums reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject, refuse to post or remove any Content (including private messages) posted by you, or to restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to all or any part of the India-forums Website at any time, for any or no reason, with or without prior notice, and without liability. India-forums expressly reserves the right to remove your profile and/or restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to any part of the India-forums Website if India-forums determines, in its sole discretion, that you pose a threat to India-forums and/or its Users.
Basically, the moderators DO have the power to limit your free speech, and they don't need a reason. When you signed up for this website, you told them that you were OKAY with this, so don't go back on your word now. You're bound by their rules on this website, whether you like it or not, so... might as well get used to it. :-)
