"Khushi bitiya! Come down for breakfast. You know you have to go to the office with your Babuji today. Hurry up!"
Garima sighed as she heard a muffled yell from the floor above. When was her daughter going to grow up? She was twenty one years old right now and had recently completed her graduation in Business Studies. She was meant to join her father's company but that seemed like the last thing she wanted to do. She was a bubbly and cheerful girl with an untamable spirit and being trapped in an office for eight hours in a day somehow didn't suit her. But there was not much she could do about it. Her father Shashi Gupta was the owner of Gupta Industries, the country's leading manufacturer of recyclable materials and the fact that they were the sole company dealing with the most sought after products in today's environment-conserving world, made him one of the richest business men around. She was his only daughter and so the burden of taking over his company rested solely on her. Not that Khushi ever complained. She wasn't the type to make things difficult. She went with the flow and enjoyed life as it came. Despite being the daughter of a millionaire, she was strangely grounded and one her most endearing traits was her simplicity.
...
Shashi Gupta read through the contents of the file in his hand. He smiled at the satisfactory terms of the deal. He glanced at one of the two men sitting before him and gave him an approving nod. This was going to be a very successful venture and his shrewd mind went over all the pros and cons of it. He handed the file over to the same man he had glanced at but he was not paying much attention or maybe he was just not a very coordinated person. Either way, he dropped the file onto the other man's hand, successfully knocking over his cup of tea over his white shirt. Apologies were thrown about the room and the second young man was directed to the wash room to clean his shirt sleeve.

Khushi went over to the pool side and stretched herself. She loved this time of the day. The sun's rays still hadn't made their way completely to this side so she wasn't subjected to the burning blaze but it was near enough for her entire world to be lit up like paradise. A few birds were resting in the lone tree present there and on hearing her arrival they started chirping away, showing their pleasure at seeing her. Khushi began talking animatedly with the birds and put out her hand so one of them could catch on and rest there. She stroked it's head lightly and told them stories about what all she had dreamt about the previous night and how her day was going to progress. She didn't notice someone walking outside on the corridor and stop to an abrupt halt as they caught a glimpse of her and stood there till she turned around and gasped.
...
The young man had a well renowned temper and he was working very hard to keep that temper in check. He didn't want to spoil the lucrative deal that was just about to be made. He hurried towards the wash room but stopped as he heard a voice coming from the room next to him. He was not the type to be interested in random voices but something about this particular one made him want to see the owner. He walked inside cautiously and looked around. There was no one there and he was about to leave when he caught sight of a glass door leading into a garden of sorts. He walked out and noticed that there was a pool there and the placed resembled a greenhouse but with much less plants and a lot more color. There were many different kinds of wind chimes hung at strategic places so that whenever there was a breeze, a tinkling melody would follow. The place had a pleasant smell and he felt himself relax as he took in the serene surroundings. His eyes wandered over the place and halted when they fell on the most beautiful sight he had ever seen.
Standing near a large tree with her back turned slightly towards was a girl. Her long hair was blowing gently in the wind as she stroked the little bird which was resting on her arm. The tinkle of the wind chimes seemed to be drowned by her lilting voice and carefree laughter. He was a little amused that she was speaking to a bird so animatedly but couldn't get himself to move away even though he knew that she would not react too well when she saw a stranger standing and staring at her. As if on cue, she turned around and his breath caught. She had a soft, glowing complexion and large hazel brown eyes which seemed to be a mirror into her soul. Her pink lips formed an o as she finally caught sight of him. Before she could react, he turned around and walked off towards his original destination.
...
"Ah Khushi bitiya, you're finally here. Let me introduce you to these people. This is Mr. Rakesh Mehra, son of Mr. Harish Mehra, owner of Mehta Steel Inc. He's agreed to consider merging his company with ours on one condition."
Khushi wondered why her father was telling her all of this. She didn't know much about his company and it wasn't one of her favorite things to do anyway. Never the less, she raised here eyebrows questioningly and received the most shocking reply she could ever expect.
"On the condition that you marry his son Rakesh."
Khushi's eyes grew wider as she looked at the man she was being asked to marry. He was probably a little older than her, medium height and reasonably amiable looking. Not the Prince Charming she had always dreamt of marrying one day but not someone she couldn't adjust with given time.
"Oh and this is his right hand man who will be helping us with all the wedding preparations as Rakesh will be off on a business trip to London for a week. But he's assured as that everything will be in this capable young man's hands and it will be his duty to look after you during this week."
Khushi smiled slightly and looked towards the second person seated on the sofa. Her mouth opened in shock as she took in his closely cropped hair, broad shoulders, lean frame, intense eyes and overall handsome face. She gulped a few times as he tilted his head slightly and gave her a slow smirk.
"Say hello to Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada."
In other words, the guy who just saw me talking nineteen to dozen with a couple of birds and probably heard everything I said about what I dreamt about last night.
