Part 16: Waiting for the Magic Word

Arnav and Khushi --- Khushi and Arnav---
Nani and Khushi recited the essence of the story of Heer- Ranjha with Arnav intently listening in the background. Nani instructs Khushi to go ahead on the stage for their performance... As Khushi leaves the green room...goes back stage waiting eagerly for Nani to come dressed up as Ranjha...
Just when it seemed like everone including Arnav was getting emotional in the green room, Nani panics about the reality...
Today saw a vulnerable Arnav losing control over his tender emotions, in full consciouness, like never before...
As Khushi is pacing backstage, Nain panics about wearing the costume of Ranjha. Very innocently, with a boyish face, Arnav tells his Nani that Ranjha was a male so, obviously the costume is for a male too - but then he immediately changes into a mature person and adds as to why Nani let Khushi go on stage? His voice and face have the most genuine concern for Khushi. Nani suggests that Arnav should wear the costume meaning enact Ranjha - Arnav is baffled and stunned!
Next comes the time for Khushi's performance with Nani as Heer-Ranjha - with Nani nowhere in sight, Khushi is in panic, worried sick - gets pushed on the stage by organizer to perform. Originally Khushi and Nani had not planned to enact Heer-Ranjha, so they had not rehearsed their act before. Khushi goes on stage - looking pretty but in obvious panic - Khushi starts saying irrelevant dialogues...only to get ridiculed by the audience. Her family embarrassed and sad, except Shyam, the snake, who looks very offended - who gave you the right, Shyam, to feel offended at Khushi's insult?
After her hasty marriage, for the first time, Khushi calls upon Devi Maiyya - DM- for help... Khushi also tries to lessen her stress by eating the sweet (no jalebi there) that she has in her hand for the act... Then she continues to say almost silly sounding dialogues - we see a glimpse of beautiful, innocent, childish and vulnerable Khushi - more pronounced aspect of her personality...
In the green room, Nani is trying to convince Arnav to donn the costume of Ranjha - Arnav flatly refuses and suggests that she goes on stage and make an apology. Nani, the smart lady, immediately reminds Arnav that this is not the kind of upbringing she has given him. He is not expected to run away from a situation when unprepared to face it - this has a deeper meaning - most likely Nani recognizes that Arnav and Khushi got married hastily but were not prepared for it and now they are having a tough time as Arnav might be running away from the situation... Nani draws parallels between a business deal and the current situation - when Arnav does not agree with her analogy - she goes on to emotional blackmailing with a genuine question - "Even if you do not want to respect my emotions, do you care about your wife being ridiculed on stage by strangers?" - It hits home - Arnav will never let Khushi's dignity suffer, as we know - as we have seen before at the sangeet also - he goes out of his way to keep her maintain her dignity , since he has realized his love for her...
To Arnav's surprise, Nani easily pulls out his car keys from the drawer and hands those to him and says he may leave if wishes to...Arnav is shocked as earlier Nani had claimed that she could not remember where the car keys were... Nani dares Arnav to leave - Nani and Arnav's eyes speak volumes here - Arnav immediately realizes somewhere what Nain was trying to do till now - But Arnav does not lose his control - he continues to be gentle...
Here Khushi on the stage, gains control of her emotions and concurs her fears - she regains her composure and attempts to say her dialogues - only to be ridiculed by audience once again - Khushi becomes sad, and not knowing what to do next starts moving backwards on the stage...
And a beautiful moment in Arnav-Khushi's life repeats itself with the same tenderness, same vulnerability but with more maturity... As Khushi is about to lose complete hope, Arnav walks on stage quietly with light footsteps - under low lights - goes close to Khushi and slides his hand over her waiste... The most magical moment - Khushi knows that touch for sure - she turns around at his touch and looks at him with surprise filled wide eyes... A handsome, debonair Arnav in a sherwani for the first time' with his gentle yet firm face, with the deep, gentle gaze
and a beautiful, ravishing but surprised Khushi make the most beautiful pair - they get lost in each other's eyes - Arnav's eyes asking the question - 'do you accept me as I am now?' Khushi's eyes asking the question, "is this a dream or am I supposed to believe my eyes?" The way they were gazing in each other'e eyes and making a beautiful silhouette - Mere dil main ek kashish si jaagi thi - jo woh dono samajh rahe thein woh main bhi samajh rahi thi...I could feel it!
Next, we witness multiple beautiful moments between Arnav and Khushi like never before... When surprised Khushi blurts out 'Arnav ji," very gently Arnav reminds her to call him 'Ranjha'- makes an eye gesture tio remind her of the audience around them. Arnav goes to confide in Khushi in a very soft, gentle, vulnerable voice with eyes to match his tone that he does not know a single dialogue, that Nain pushed him on stage and then sorts of requests her to get hold of situation quickly...
I cherish this moment! I loved it! It was something that I never thought would happen today... Arnav came out clean - became Khushi's Arnav, pure hearted, soft soul - opened up his heart to her to show how vulnerable he was in this situation and how Khushi could take care of both of them! Arnav Singh Raizada confided in his Khushi...what a beautiful, tender moment!
Arnav's voice was so pure, so genuine - Khushi immdiately reminded him to call her 'Heer'- The way Arnav approached her, his presence, his words - letting her know that he is there with her, gives Khushi a new strength and confidence. In the meantime, audiences' comment to move along the love story...draws parallel to their own love story...
We witness another beautiful moment between these two lovers - Arnav's intense but tender gaze never leaving Khushi's eyes - Khushi with eyes full of her heartfelt emotions, directly looks into Arnav's eyes and seizes the moment to let him know, "If you love someone and you find them right in front of him, then there is no need for words -eyes do all the talking..." Well said Khushi, aree yaar yehi toh hum bhi kab se kehte hai tum dono ke baarein main! She goes on to add that 'you know it, I know it, the only people who do not know are the one's who do not know what love is all about...'
For the first time we see a mature Khushi who recognizes somewhere that Arnav is in love with her - her heart knows it now! Khushi instructs him to follow her cue and complete the act that she is about to begin...
We see a new confident Khushi - Arnav's Khushi seizing this opportinity to say what she wants to tell Arnav - saying dialogues that draw parallels to their lives - an intrigued Arnav watches her mesmerized and gets deep in his thoughts - Arnav is lost in her words -
Khushi says - as Heer - that she is in love with this Ranjha - almost saying that to Arnav as his Khushi! But Khushi never stops being Khushi - when Arnav asks her what is his cue, she says the moment that will be best for Arnav and worst for Ranjha - meaning the death of her in the act as Heer! Poor Arnav, this is how Khushi plays with his serious question...
When Khushi enacts Heer's death after ingesting the poisonous sweet - Arnav eneters the stage - his eyes welling with tears, his face sad and vulnerable - he comes and picks Khushi up in his arms and his lap - in an emotional voice, crying he continues to call for Heer but says everuthing to Arnav's Khushi as Arnav! "Open your eyes for onec and look at me - I cannot live without you- I am no one without you!" A tear rolls down Khushi's face... Arnav wipes the tear off gently and continues with his heartfelt confession - "I left you thinking it you not affect me ut you know that I cannot leave without you! Whatever I did to you, whatever I said to you - forget all of it and come back to me! Nothing else matters today! No truth, no lies - the only thing that matters is that I do not exist without you! - You said that without you, I do not exist! If not on this earth then there exists a world where we will never be separated!" Then he enacts ingesting the poisonous sweet ( remember - Arnav should not eat sugary sweets - he does!)... After that what Arnav says it only whispered to Khushi ..."What ever bad things I said to you, whatever bad things I did to you - they do not matter anymore." "There is nothing right or wrong in this love..." ;The only thing that has a meaning is that ...I ..I... w i l l ... a..l...w...a..y..s ------ you!" He completes his act of dying without ever saying the word "pyaar" "love".!
Audiences and family members are stunned with the beauty of their act - Khushi and Arnav probably caught in whirlwind where they just attemped their first conscious confession of their love for each other in from of whole audience and family members...
Khushi opens her eyes and looks at Arnav with a different gaze as if she will just envelope Arnav in her gaze with love...A different maturity reflecting on her face. She seems to realize Arnav's love for her.
Jab Khushi Arnav ko is pyar bhari samajhdari ki nazar se dekhe ja rahi thi toh mere dil main bhi kahi ek ajeeb sa pyaar ka dard bhara ehsaas jaga...Whe Khushi looked at Arnav with this affectionate, understanding gaze, I felt the deep pain of love in my heart...❤️😍

wahi dil ne bhi keh diya
ab keh bhi do mere piya
Ke yeh dil aapne hum hi ko hai diya!
They open their eyes to audiences applause, look at each other with a different understanding - Arnav gets up first, give Khushi a hand to get up - both take abow hand in hand ...😳
As Arnav is still trying to get hold of his emotions, Khushi strikes the most inopportune question to Arnav - 'what were you saying...?" Arnav's eyes show disbilef 😲- that Khushi is asking this question in front of EVERYONE, on the stage... He still keep holding her hand and brings his ear close to her and asks what she is saying... Khushi goes, "always ...always..what ..always what?" With the organizer standing next to them - Khushi forces Arnav to answer the quation - Arnav leaves the stage...
We have seen this before, Khushi asks Arnav questions about his emotions, his feelings, something that he potentially considers to be a private thing between him and Khushi - in front of other people - she pushes him over the edge by doing this - as seen on Diwali, with the loss of voice saga... Arnav does not take being pushed in the matter of his love very well.
In the green room, Arnav gets changed in his own clothes - while getting ready he notices Khushi's eaaring on the dressing table in front of the mirror..He gently picks it up, holds in front and reflects - we see these emotions of Arnav being reflected in the mirror - his mind, most likely, immersed in Khushi - her earring- sthose beautiful memories...Khushi follows him to the dressing room - she appreas as reflection in the mirror - something that Khushi has not witnessed before about Arnav - looking at her earring with so much love...
Khushi says to Arnav that he cannot run away from her anymore...Arnav quickly hides her earring in his hand, his face has a feeling of being caught - he keeps looking at Khushi- Khushi moves closer to him - extends her hand to his - gently touches his fingers and without saying anything, without asking anything her touch demands and he gives in - he slides the earring to her hand... MINDBLOWING! These two lovebirds have such an amazing eye communication and now they are depicting their mastery in their touch as well!
Their eyes talk once again - a new Arnav - unable to maintain his gaze, and a new Khushi, showing an understanding but blazing with the eagerness to hear what he was about to say - her heart knows it - she wants to hear it FROM HIM!
We see a new mature Khushi, who says, "Look at me, Arnav Singh Raizada!" Remids him that just the way he does not like to be neglected while talking - she does not either...This makes Arnav to turn around and listen to her...Arnav once again does not lose his patience here... As Khushi repeats each and every word he said to her on stage - Arnav's eyes well up, unable to hide his fragile emotions - he cannot continue to look into Khushi's eyes - Khushi's voice cracks up, her eyes full of expectations, brimming with tears... her aching heart reflecting through those big eyes...to hear from her beloved the magic word...

Dhadka hai dil aa yaar mil, yeh pyaar ka izhaar hai
Kaho na pyaar hai...
😊 Arnav not yet ready to handle so much, looks away and claims that he was merely saying dialogues. Khushi very firmly says, "No! That was you, Arnav Singh Raizada!" Arnav's eyes onec again have the empty look, he turns around and puts on a mask to tell Khushi, after pinning her to the dressing table, that he did all of that for his family and it meant nothing... Khushi dares him to leave the topic halfway - just like other times - (Diwali... His outburst after recovery of his voice..) He does exactly that, grabs his coat and leaves the room... For the first time we see a lover in Khushi - hurt, full of realization of his feelings for her - non-verbalized by her yet but her love for him and a valid expectation of hearing it from him... Frustarted lover in Khushi, throws the earring on floor - a gesture Arnav shows when he is frustrated...
Untold Thoughts: Arnav has realized his love for Khushi long ago, and Khushi seems to have realized their love for each other now. Her heart is aching impatiently to hear from Arnav what his eyes and gestures as well as his dailogues were tring to say to her... ❤️ Arnav has waited too long to get even a hint of her love for him in her conscious state of mind. Khushi has never given him any such indication till today - when she said the first dialogue - now all her other loving, caring gestures have the sam emeaning of love and care for him...
Roothe Roothe Piya... Khushi ji, aap ko hi ab pejhle bolna hoga!
Arnav ji ab aap se pehle sunana chahate hai...❤️
We also saw Shyam's unhappiness and frustration over Arnav and Khushi's public display of affection...Snakewa - I do not want to say anything about you on such a lovely day! - Almost their second confession!
Here come the first time lovers, trading their path of first time love - full of expectations, full of emotions, eager to hear from each other, hurting with wait getting longer , to the resolve - confession...❤️
