Celebs talk about intimate scenes on TV
TNN | Mar 31, 2012, 12.00AM ISTGiaa Manek I've not watched the so-called intimate scenes which were aired on the various prime time shows of late. As far as I am concerned, whether I want to do such scnes depends on my role. I need to be convinced that the intimate scenes fit in the story-line. I won't do such scenes just for TRPs. As an actor, I have no inhibitions, but they need to be justified.
Pratyusha Banerjee I'm not at all comfortable doing intimate scenes. I've certain moral ethics which I follow. I come from a small town and my family will not like it. Also, in future, the family I'll be the part of might not approve of such onscreen scenes. I'll never do these scenes.
Aishwarya Sakhuja We are actors and if The Script demands, I wouldn't mind doing intimate scenes. Having said that, we all know TV is an accessible medium to all age groups so, I'll ensure that scene is aired on the prime time band, so that only adults can watch it.
Sonarika Badhoria I've just done an intimate scene in Tum Dena Saath Mera. Honestly, initially I was a little uncomfortable about enacting such a scene in front of so many people on the set. It's my first show so I was feeling conscious. However, my producers and creative team explained the importance of the scene in the story and script at that time and that made me more comfortable. At the end of the day it's a challenge that an actor should take up.
Krystal D'Souza Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar are senior actors, I've seen the episode and there wasn't anything bad about their intimate scenes. But, as a new-comer I don't want to risk doing scenes which my family might not approve of. Also, TV is a family medium so such scenes can be avoided.
Barun Sobti I don't think I will ever do any intimate scene on screen. However, that's absolutely my personal take, and has nothing do with any moral code of conduct or viewership requirement etc.
Karan Tacker I really don't mind doing intimate scenes. I don't think there should be any problem because it is part of the profession and when you are into an intimate scene, there's no feeling, it is shot in a very technical manner. If I were to put it in a word, these scenes have an almost 'clinical' feel to them. When you have a crew of 20 people surrounding you and if these scenes are justified by the script, why not do them? Just because TV has a family viewership doesn't mean we should act coy! Today even children access internet, so rather than watching po*n, why not educate them properly?
Gurmeet Chaudhary No way! I am not at all comfortable doing such scenes on television. Let's not forget that TV is a medium that is viewed together by families. Indians are still very traditional and conservative. I have to take care of sentiments of my audience. I don't mind going shirtless, but intimate scenes are out.
Kinshuk Mahajan I won't do such intimate scenes or even lip locks. I am not comfortable with them. I am happy doing soaps which cater to the family audience. In India, families don't want to see intimate stuff on television with their kids.
Karanvir Bohra I think steamy scenes are way too hyped on TV. We have to break the 'log kya kahenge' mindset. We are getting there, slowly but surely, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain has tried it, so have Amrit Manthan and Tum Dena Saath Mera and I am sure more shows will air such intimate scenes in the near future and it's a positive sign for sure. I am game for a full fledged steamy scene which are filmed aesthetically. I am sure my fans would love to see me kiss on screen. I have no reservations at all.
