Akshara's Column: Tell your mother how much she means to you

Hi friends…many times we take our mothers for granted and often forget to tell them how much we appreciate them. I too have made this same mistake, but I hope that maa will forgive me and we can solve our misunderstandings.

I have been so busy taking care of Naksh and with the book launch, that unknowingly I have neglected spending time with maa. Many times she has called me and tried to talk to me, but due to something or the other I have just brushed her off. She has not even been able to spend time with Naksh. Maa was so upset with me that she even left my book launch early. I never meant to hurt her, but unknowingly I have done so.

Our mothers have been with us through our childhood, our good times, our problems, sickness and everything else. We share a special and unique bond with our mothers as they have nurtured us for nine months. They deserve to be appreciated and we need to tell and show them how much we love them. I too am a mother today and so I know how this feels. Even when we get married and go to another home, our relationship with our mother never changes and this relationship remains intact no matter where you are.

They may yell and scold us, but they do so as they only want the best for us. Maa was so upset with me, that she did not even want to talk to me. Aur bacche ke liye isse badi saza kya ho sakti hai ki uski maa usse baat na kare. We must apologise to our mother if we have hurt her feelings and clear our misunderstandings, so that she and you will feel better.

Hi friends, as u all know MA was maha upset with me , I'm so greatful to Naitik & Shaurya dadu to arrange a meeting for us. Initially Ma was not talking to me but when i cried, she also cried and understood why I ignored her unintentionally. Mothers always forgive their children & they have a special place in their heart for them. I'm glad MA forgave me. I was taken by surprise that our neighbours also read my book. but I was in shock again when they taunted Gayitri MA for worrying for me during the time of delivery & pregnancy. Friends, mother in laws have equal right over their pregnant bahu & her concern was right. She really cares for me and the child and did not want anything bad to happen to both of us.

Unintentionally I hurted Gayitri MA again . Friends, no matter how much someone is angry with you, if taken on a bench in a park, and given an opportunity to talk, all the misunderstandings can be cleared. I'm thankful to Naitik who understood my problem again and sent me and Ma to the park ! I explained her properly that I didn't mean to insult her, I was just telling NAksh how concerned his dadi is for him ! When the second bucket of tears was full, and I was on Gayitri Ma's knees, she finally forgave me. Friends, mother in laws are like this only. They are so loving & caring and don't keep anything in their heart.

Finally I got to spend sometime with Naksh but Gayitri MA was upset with me again that I got late in changing the diapers and feeding him. Friends, we should follow what our MIL's tell us bec. it's for our own good. meanwhile Naksh's nani was missing him so I took Naksh to his nani's house. Gayitri MA gave me the permission with a straight face but friends, you must always take permission before going to maayka to avoid any misunderstanding. Naksh's nani was delighted to meet Naksh but i had to cut short the visit bec. Gayitri MA called me back. she's extremely loving & caring n cannot stay without Naksh. I feel so proud to have such good parents and in laws who understand me .
