Today it felt as though his thoughts were she could spend as much time she wanted with his family as long as she was the first and last person he saw everyday. This has been the pattern for some time now.
Through time he has bonded with her in all spheres - spiritually through marriage, mentally through knowing what she likes, emotionally through reading her actions and on Holi, physically.
Even though he does not remember this union, since then he had felt very connected with her in every way. This is how he had responded to her when she entered their bedroom. By keeping himself occupied with office work, he was waiting for her so that they could go to sleep at the same time.
The room resonated her question that she would ask night after night before settling down to sleep - Do you need anything? Through her marriage she experienced different responses but nothing matched with the one asked today - Gopi, I got a pain in my back. Can you massage it?
The last time he was in this situation was during Janmasthmi and she used a hot water bottle to ease the pain. This time he precisely wants a massage.
For him to ask her to do this tells us just how connected he is to her. In his mind and heart he is very close to her but not in his actions yet. Will her touch jog his memory of what happened that faithful Holi afternoon? Will he lie on the bed to give her better access to his back?
