It doesn't matter whether it is a fictional work or not. Domestic Violence itself is a reality and it needs to be stopped been portrayed .
I have been an ardent viewer of IPKKND... I started watching the show because it promised to be an intense love story and of course for Barun and Sanaya. Although, I always had reservations towards any kind of violence...be it physical or emotional, I have been loyal to the show only to support Barun and Sanaya by conveying my personal time as a token. But, this show has come to a point where it is unbearable to watch.
I have my reasons Ms Khan...I have lived through physical and emotional abuse and believe me it breaks and dismantles a person completely. I understand this is only reel life...is it only reel life? I'm afraid...it's not. It's very REAL. Women gets abused every second throughout the world. Please, remember you are showing such abuse through your male lead ASR. Instead of condemning such behavior, you are glorifying him with an excuses after excuses...first it was childhood trauma...now it is misunderstanding. All abusers have excuses! But, while excuses varies, one principle remains true that You are an abuser and you are abusing instead of being constructive.
Being and independent and progressive woman yourself...how are you portraying such violent behavior with such ease in the name of Intense Love and Passion? Intense Love is emotional and passionate...no where it is perceived as VIOLENT or PHYSICAL.
Ms Khan...NO amount of excuses can justify inflicting PAIN and ABUSE to another human being. It is said that the abuser and the abused are equally responsible. So is in your show...ASR and Khushi are both responsible. ASR for abusing and Khushi for not opposing it. There are no victims MS Khan, only volunteers. No human being should go along to get along. Peace at any price is no peace at all. Khushi has to say, NO. She does not deserve this and she should know it in her heart. In today's episode ( 3/ 26/ 12) ASR said, Khushi deserved bad treatment...how so Ms Khan? Just because he assumed that she had an affair with Shyam...really ? I believe that although you claim to be outgoing and a huge supporter of independence for women...you are stuck in the times where women were burnt alive with their dead husband preferably known as SATI .
Ms Khan...I am not one of the numerous viewers who likes to move on if they don't like a show...I am the one to is persistent with my approach and feels entitled to change. I will do the same here...I will be persistent until you change this unacceptable definition and portrayal of an intense love story which actually is not a love story in any context but a tale of ABUSE.
Lastly, I would like to share and bring a current news to your attention that... Crime and punishment does'nt change on the basis of wealth or power if brought into attention... Yes, powerful ppl gets away many a times, but here comes the power of VOICE of the victim. Recently, in US, the deputy sheriff of SanFrancisco Ross Mirkarimi was arrested for domestic violence ( to my knowledge he pushed and grabbed his wife)... He is under probation and other legalities apart from been suspended. In this context ASR is been committing this crime on a daily basis. What will be his punishment?
