Part 12

Arnav ran behind Khushi as she walked furiously in to the night. He called out to her, 'Yeh kya zidd hai, Khushi? I know you're upset par meri baat toh suno!' Khushi says, 'Nahi suna humhe kuch bhi. Hum nahi chodege unhe!' Arnav finally caught up with her and held her hand. He saw her angry and tear soaked face. Khushi said, 'Kaise Arnav? Kaise kar sakte hai woh aisa hamare Babuji ke saath?' Arnav cupped her face in his hands and said, 'Khushi main samajhta houn ke tum par kya beet rahi hai, I do lekin please stop running.' She looked at him for a couple of moments and then buried herself in his arms. He felt her frame shudder with sobs against him and his anger against Shyam mounted to extreme heights. He said, 'Khushi, I promise you ke Shyam ko iss sab ki saza milegi. Har ek takleef ka jurmana woh bharega. Yakeen karo.' Khushi pulls back and looks at him worriedly. He asks, 'Aise kyun dekh rahi ho?' Khushi holds his hand and says, 'Nahi, aap kuch nahi karege.' Arnav frowns and says, 'Pagal ho gayi ho tum? Tumhare Babuji ne kaha uske baad...' Khushi's mind was working very rapidly. If Shyam could nearly kill her father then what all was he capable of? Would he kill Arnav too? She would die before she saw that happen. Shyam had created enough havoc in her life but to see him make a move on Arnav, was something she would not permit. She said, 'Aap kyun kuch karege? Aapki wajah se yeh toh sab hua hai.' Arnav could just let out a shocked, 'Khushi?' Khushi hastily replied, 'Aur nahi toh kya? Shyam humse mile kyun? Woh gundo ki wajah se jinhonein humhe TV par dekha tha. TV par humhe dala kisne? Aapne. Aap kuch nahi karege. Jo karna hai woh hum karege. Yeh hamari ghar ki baat hai.'

Momentarily, Arnav had confusion written all over his face but Khushi's face gave her away. She was not looking at him directly and he could see her controlling her tears. Arnav understood that she was trying to throw him off course due to fear. Arnav firmly said, 'Jo ab mera hai.' Khushi could not argue that since they were married. She helplessly said, 'Woh aapko bhi...' He placed his hand on her lips and said, 'Shut up, Khushi Arnav Singh Raizada. Yeh naam yun hi nahi juda hai tumhare saath.' Khushi retorts, 'Lekin hum sambhaal lege.' Arnav comes close to her and says, 'Pehle bhi kaha hai, tum sab kuch khud nahi kar sakti.' Khushi's tears start flowing in earnest and she continues to cry for a while. Arnav says, 'Shhh.. Khushi. Bas, maine kaha na ke sab theek ho jayega.' Khushi asks, 'Par kaise.' At that moment, a car stops in front of them and Arnav and Khushi are taken aback to see Mamiji and Naniji come out of the car. Khushi steps away from Arnav and they look at each other questioningly. Arnav says, 'Aap yaha?' Mamiji says, 'Ka hai na Arnav bitwa, tum toh jaanat ho ke humka James Band banne ka kitna shauk raha. Toh humne intelligensiya use kiye rahe aur pata kiye ke tum toh right ho aur oo, oo Snakewa wrong!!! Kitne days se kuch na kuch saamne aawat hai lekin hum blindiya gaye the.' Arnav and Khushi are shocked to hear this. Naniji comes forward to Khushi and says, 'Humhe maaf kar do Khusi bitiya. Hum aapko galat samjhe rahe aur aap toh khud Anjali bitiya ko bacha rahi thi.'

Khushi hugs Naniji and says, 'Hum kabhi aapko dhoka nahi de sakte Naniji. Hum sab batana chahte the lekin humhe darr tha ke Di toot jayegi.' Naniji pats her back and Mamiji says, 'Kuch soche ho ka, Arnav bitwa? Aur what you do's here when ghar eejh there?' Arnav relates that Khushi's father had started to speak and had managed to convey that Shyam was responsible for his heart attack and also that the actual plan was to kill him but he came away with paralysis. Khushi cried as she heard the story again and Arnav put his arm around her to calm her down. Naniji says, 'Chhote, humne aapka saath nahi diye uske liye hum...' Arnav cuts in and says, 'It's ok Nani. Pehli baar maine bhi Khushi ko galat hi samjha tha lekin I just thought ke aap usse samajhte hai. Par Di ko dekhkar, aap bhi...' Nani sighs and says, 'Jee Chhote, Anjali bitiya ki haalat bohot hi kharab hai.' Mamiji adds, 'Yes, yes Arnav bitwa. Not eating, not talking, Snakewa not coming.' Arnav says, 'Hospital hai, maine hi bheja hai. Aap aaj ki raat Di ko handle keejiye. Main nahi aa paouga.' Naniji says, 'Aap Khushi bitiya ke saath hi rahiye. Hum ghar par sambhal lege. Chaliye hamare saath, hum aap dono ko ghar chod det hai.' Arnav says, 'Nahi Nani, hum kuch der baad aayege. Babuji Khushi ko aise dekhkar aur pareshan hoge.' Naniji smiles and pats his head, 'Khushi rahiye.' Mamiji comes to Khushi and says, 'Phati... Humra matlab Khushi bitiya, hum tumka kaafi trouble kiye rahe aur tumri behen ko bhi lekin hum sarry hai.' Khushi smiles through her tears and hugs her saying, 'Bas Jiji ka khayal rakhna, Mamiji. Humhe bohot chinta hai.' Mamiji feels bad for Khushi and agrees to do so. They leave and Arnav and Khushi gaze at each lovingly.

Khushi interlocks her arm with his and they start to walk. They are quiet for a long time when Khushi finds Arnav looking at the stars. She asks, 'Kya dekh rahe hai?' Arnav replies, 'Tumhare aur mere Mom aur Dad ne bhi dosti kar li hogi na? Saath mein humhe dekh rahe hoge, Laad Governor aur Chamkeeli ki Jodi.' A wide and bright smile lights up Khushi's face listening to Arnav's description of both of them. Khushi replies, 'Humhe yakeen hai ke woh zaroor ek saath hoge aur soch rahe hoge ke zindagi bhar hum dono ek doosre ke saath kaise rahege.' Arnav smiles lightly and says, 'Tumhare saath waqt ka pata hi nahi chalta Khushi. Kitni positive ho tum, aur woh all the time.' Khushi grins and says, 'Aur aap khadoos, sometime.' They both laugh and continue to walks under the watchful eye of their parents twinkling happily finally seeing their children together. Khushi asks, 'Sab theek ho jayega na?' Arnav stops and turns to look at her. He says, 'Sab kuch, Khushi. Main tumhe ya Di ko kuch bhi nahi hone douga.' Khushi frowns and says, 'Yeh kaafi nahi hai.' She continues, 'Main tumhe, Di ya khud ko kuch bhi nahi hone douga. Aur aap job hi karege, humhe batayege.' Arnav rolls his eyes and says, 'Aur kuch.' Khushi nods and says, 'Aap hamesha humse pyaar karege.' Arnav smiles, kisses her lips and says, 'Kuch aur maang liya hota.' Khushi hugs him and says, 'Hamare liye yeh kaafi hai.'
