CHAPTER 13: TWO SUNS

Arnav drove through the night. He always kept glancing at khushi because today she looked like an angel. Khushi had to keep using her hands to turn him and face towards the road.

Khushi: arnavji. You better face the road.

Arnav: why should i? when I have an angel sitting next to me.

Khushi blushed.

Khushi: Stop looking at me like this arnavji.

Arnav: oh come on tomato. Admit it. Your enjoying me looking at you.

Khushi blushed again and gave a small punch to arnav's shoulder.

Arnav: ow. what was that for?

Khushi: for your flirting.

And she turned a darker shade of red.

Arnav; oh ho! Look at my tomato being all shy and stuff. How cute. Anyway since I know no one would have flirted with the chamkeeli halwaai I met, I thought I'll atleast show you how it feels. After all in college girls used to die to get their hands on me. I just thought I'd make you know how it feels like.

Khushi's jaw dropped. Her mouth was in a perfect O and she was going to retaliate.

Khushi: don't show off. Who in their right mind will want to be with a grumpy laad governor?

Arnav: but you forget khushi. I am the most handsome man in india,

Saying winking at khushi.

Khushi: ha in your dreams only. Fine. If you did flirt around so much then tell me how many girlfriends did you have?

Arnav: leave It khushi. You'll just be jealous.

Khushi: jealous my foot. Tell me. give me a number.

Arnav: hmm, lets see. Shiela, geetha, arushi, avantika, aasha, maria, shruti, dolly, saru, lavanya and you. That makes 11. Hmm not bad huh?

Khushi shocked.

Khushi: what 11? And your still 24. That means.

Arnav smirked: yes khushi. You didn't think that a handsome rich guy couldn't fool around with a couple of people huh? Oh they were all just WOW.

Khushi looked at arnav horrified. Tears were coming to khushi's eyes. She did a lot to keep them in her eyes. Arnav was smirking mischievously looking at khushi. Then he thought that he'll try to push her just this once.

Arnav: ya sure you are good and all. But the kiss with shiela and maria were truly---

And he stopped as he had done it. Khushi had burst into tears and she was trying all in her power to not show them to arnav. Arnav burst out laughing.

Khushi looked at him and started crying even more as she thought that arnav was making fun of her.

Arnav stopped the car and took a weeping khushi from her seat into his lap. She covered her face with her hands to hide her tears. Arnav took her hands away and hugged her tightly

Arnav: oh my lovely tomato. I am sorry. I was just playing with you. I haven't had a girl friend in my life. Nor is there any other person whom I love apart from you. I was just feeding you lies to see how you react. Oh I am sorry my love.

Khushi was shocked. She broke away from arnav, pouted and then started hitting him.

Khushi: I hate you. You always like to make me cry. Everytime you laugh while you make me cry.do you like me crying so much?

The smirk on arnav's face had vanished. He saw that she had taken all this very seriously and her tears refused to stop.

Arnav: I am sorry khushi. Pleas don't cry. You may cry from your eyes but do you know something?

Khushi: what?

Arnav: when you cry from here (pointing at her eyes) I bleed from here.(taking her hand and placing it on his chest right over his beating heart.)

Arnav took his thumb and wiped the tear that was rolling down her cheek and took it to his lips and kissed it.

Khushi just bent forward and hugged arnav and arnav hugged her back very tightly to show exactly how much he loved her.

Arnav: you are the one and only person for whom my heart beats khushi. I could feel the presence of my heart only when I am with you. I love you, my crazy tomato khushi.

Khushi: i love you too arnavji.

Arnav: oh god can you stop that.

Khushi: what?

Arnav: I told you to just call me arnav. Atleast when we are alone. You make me sound like a father taking his daughter to a park.

Khushi blushed and looked away.

Khushi: ji arnavji.

Arnav: excuse me. I didn't catch that part.

Khushi: ok arnavvv.

And she got totally red. She got up and sat on her seat.

Arnav: fine since we are almost there let me do one thing.

He took out blindfolds and blind folded khushi.

Arnav started the car and drove inside his farmland. Khushi couldn't see a thing. She felt the car come to a complete stop. She heard arnav get down, come to her side of the door and help her to get down. Then she heard some voices. There were 3 me along with arnav there. She was utterly confused as to what was going.

Arnav: is it ready? Can we go up now?

1^st man : yes sir. It is ready. You can both go up. It is completely safe. Please don't worry about a thing. Just do as we taught you to do.

Arna: and it's a perfect cloudless night too.

Khushi was getting completely clueless. She didn't understand what was going on. But she didn't complain.

Arnav: don't get scared khushi. We are going up with this elevator. Just grab on to my arm and relax. You are going to enjoy this.

Saying so he led her into it. She heard the doors close and click.

The three men wished them the best of luck and they satin a car and started driving.

Arnav: now we are going to go up.

Then khushi heard a noise and she felt the accent.

Khushi: can I take them off now?

Arnav: not now. Only when we reach the place. Then she felt the elevator slow down and stop. The only problem was she could hear the sound of the wind.

Khushi: are we on the terrace. I can hear the sound of the wind.

Arnav: when I remove the blindfolds, don't panic. I am here and nothing will ever happen o you.

Khushi: don't scare me arnavji, I mean arnav pleas don't scare me.

Arnav removed her blindfolds and sked her to open her eyes.

Khushi opened her eyes and she was shocked to see the place she was at.

Arnav and khushi were in a Hot Air Baloon. They were very high above the earth.

Khushi's fear got the better of her and she turned and hugged arnav tightly and said

Khushi: ARNAV WHERE HAVE YOU BROUGHT ME. WE ARE BOTH GOING TO DIE. WE'LL FALL AND DIE. WE WILL-

And arnav silenced her by claiming her lips. He poured all his care and protection into her. He finally felt khushi calm down.

Arnav: khushi, dont worry.we wont fall, nor will we die.

It took sometime to completely calm khushi after which she trusted arnav and started to enjoy her experience. It was an amazing sight. To watch houses and lights as dots on the grounds and they were able to get a lovely view of the stars as well.

Arnav: khushi kumara gupta, I have brought you here a little closer to your parents as well as mine. To take their blessings before we are married tomorrow.

Khushi looked at arnav speechless.

Khushi gave him a tight hug and thanked him wordlessly.

Arnav took khushi's hand and looked towards the stars,

Arnav: mum and dad and my lovely in laws. I thank you all for watching over us and bringing us together. I am really sorry for all the mistekes I have done. Everything I did before I met khushi was mostly a mistake and I am sorry for the same. Mum and dad of khushi and tomorrow you will become my parents as well. I swear to you that I'll never let khushi get hurt ever again. I would trust her with my life. She makes life flow in me. she makes me live, she makes that fire burn inside my body that gives meaning to life. All I want to say is kindly shower us with your blessing so that we can proceed to become man and wife.

Khushi was just staring at arnav. She was completely taken aback by whatever he said, but she wordlessly thanked him. She felt lighter and happy. This happiness radiated through heer entire body down to her very soul. She just went and kissed him. She let flow the emotions that were in her to arnav as she was the one controlling the kiss this time.when they broke apart arnav smirked and asked,

Arnav: have you no shame? Kissing in front of my parents.

And khushi blushed profusely.they turned towards the star and khushi pointed out,

Khushi: see the ma and pa star are shining. This means they have given us their blessing. Yay! And she hugged arnav. They both looked at the stars hand in hand.

Then arnaav turned her towards the stars and hugged her from the back, with his chest touching her back and his hands on her waist. It was as though time had stopeed. He felt at peace and so did she. This is were they belonged. In each others arms. This was home. In each others presence.

Khushi: thanks for this gift arnav. I love you.

Arnav: your smile is my life khushi. It gives me the power to live. Without you I am just a corpse. With no life nor purpose.

Khushi: ma and babuji, I love arnav and I know that he is the man for me. ihope you shower us with your blessings. He is my second sun.

Arnav startled: SON?

Khushi: no buddhu, S-U-N.

She kept on talking to explain as arnav couldn't understand what khushi meant,

Khushi: earth needs the sun to exist. If I am the earth I have 2 suns. One is my babuji and amma who watch me from the sky and the other is you. Without you both in my life, I have no reason to exist, to smile. You are my second sun. I draw all my energy from you.

Arnav was touched hearing this. He controlled his tears and kissed khushi on her forehead and turned her around.

Arnav: don't worry khushi. I'll always be there for you as a friend, a husband and as your raakshas laad governor. Even death wont do us apart. If I die, don't worry. I'll always be around you, giving you my support and will definitely meet you in my next life.

And then arnav and khushi kissed for a long time. They didn't know how long they did. All they knew was that it was the place they belonged. With each other. They were one.

after about one and a half hour arnav adjusted the cylinder pressure and they started to slowly descend. They descended into a huge field. After 10 minutes a car drove up to them with a driver. He had followed them via a gps tracker that was on their balloon. They sat in the back and the driver drove them to payal's house. Khushi was leaning on arnav's chest and arnav put a hand around her to cuddle up to her and they went to gupta house without speaking a word. Their souls were already doing it for them.
