Ace cinematographer and director Balu Mahendra has become old but his penchant for film-making has not diminished. He started working on a film he will be cranking and acting in. The film revolves around an old man and a boy of seven. He wanted to cast an 85-year-old man in the film but he has not succeeded in his search to find one who fits the bill. Given no option, the doyen of Tamil cinema has decided to play this character himself.
Balu Mahendra, who has given superb films like 'Moodupani', 'Moondram Pirai' and 'Veedu', has set himself high standards and strived to uphold them. Age does not seem to have sapped his energy when it comes to film-making. He will now be three-in-one (cinematographer, director and actor).
