Yes this still exists. I live in the US. I am currently living Europe temporarily. Many of the Indians I have met abroad live like the Shah parivaar. I know of women physicians whowork at hospitals and then when they come home they get abused and can't take any decisions. One of these women had to quit her job because of h er husband's household demands. Its terrible but it exists, and many Indian women support this kind of behavior.

One example, my husband travels alot. I have small children. Some family frineds will not invite me when my husband travels because "he" is not there, so howcan I sociaize. But when I go to India to visit my inlaws and parents, these same friends invite him every weekend because "becahara, akele kese khana banyega".

Strange huh?

yes its definitely true...i live in india...in orissa and u all wud not believe that education and living in the capital city for 30 whole years has not changed the attitude of ppl here abt "men are god"...here's society is like tht..its slowly changing and hence i identify with this serial.it depicts how a well-educated girl with sensible thoughts is trying to change the age-old mindset of a patriach family.
i absolutely love sneha's character...for once she doesnt shed buckets of tears like all other lead ladies of k-serials.she speaks sensibly but u cant go on speaking against the head of the family everytime...it wud seem rude behavior to other members...n they wud rather not see ur valid point...u need to diplomatically reason out and sneha is just doing tht.
i admire her patience and diplomacy 👏 👏

This is still going on at this century. I am talking about educated people who think they can boss and who insult their wives in front of other, who have extra marital affairs, who do not like the women to go out and work and they are people who marry so that they get a wife as a full fledge servant. if you speak you get battered by husbands and inlaws. this is really happenening in today societies.
