Arnav has been closely observing Khushi and her interactions with Shyam and has realised that there was no way she could have been involved with him. For one, he had seen pure loathing in Khushi's eyes whenever she looked at Shyam, there were no fond looks exchanged between the two, even when there were no one around. Secondly, he knew that Shyam was not aware of the nature of his and Khushi's relationship, he surely would have gloated, rubbing it in that Arnav and Khushi were not really man and wife, that their marriage was still unconsummated. Why had Khushi not confided in her lover? Moreover, Khushi was tolerating this farce of a marriage, being humiliated every moment of the day, sleeping outside like a dog, only to save the marriage of her sister, why would she try to wreck the married life of his sister then?'Something was not quite right'.For the first time in his life, the great Arnav Singh Raizada reluctantly admitted that he might have been wrong in judging Khushi.
Any man caught in this situation would have reacted the same way, he argued, but the argument did not hold much weight. He had overreacted ,punished Khushi for crimes she had not committed, imprisoned her in this mockery of a marriage without giving her a chance to explain herself. He had seen Khushi's affection for Anjali, there was no way she would hurt her.
Arnav restlessly paced in his room, staring at the sleeping form of his wife by the poolside. He had suggested that she sleep inside the room from now on and had received a mocking look, 'don't worry, Mr. Raizada, I will be back before anyone else wakes up, nobody would catch me sleeping outside'.
Twice during the day, he had tried to get close to her. Once holding her hand at the dining table and once in their room. Both the times, she had looked through him, not protesting, not pushing him away but not participating either. He hated to see the bored, I am not affected look in her eyes when he was near. He adored the flustered Khushi, loved to nettle her, revelled in their fights. She was his and he was not letting her go, not now, not after 6 months, not ever.
A slow smile played on his lips, a calculative look in his eyes, as he cast a lingering glance at Mrs. Raizada and went to bed. He would sleep peacefully tonight, he needed his energy to turn his plan into action. Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizda had no idea what she was in for'
