Kunal Siddhi One Shot - An acceptance of love.

This is my first attempt at writing a one shot. Please leave comments and feel free to add to it.

This is not exactly a confession scene – it is more of an acceptance scene. I am envisioning a scenario in which Kunal and Siddhi have developed a greater understanding of each other during the remainder of the case and Shilpa's wedding. They've learned about each other and are pretty convinced about each other's love.

The court appointed six months are about to be over. Kunal is sitting on his desk when Siddhi walks in.

Kunal: Aaye. Suno. Tumse kuch baat karni thi.

Siddhi: Boliye.

Kunal: Kal court ki di hui chay mahine ki mahulat khatam ho rahi hai. Maine time le liya hai, hum log kal subah hi jaakar divorce ki formalities complete kar denge.

Siddhi is shocked. She slowly walks towards the bed and sits down. She had been preparing for this day, but hadn't really expected it to happen. The tears start to involuntarily flow.

Out comes a tissue.

Kunal: Jitna rona hai aaj ro lo. Mummy, papa, Seema, Gaurav, Anokhi, Ishani, sabke liye aaj hi aasoon baha lo. Kal judge ke chamber mein jaake mat rona pichli baar ki tarah. Warna sab kiye karaye par paani phir jaayega.

Siddhi slowly reaches up, takes the tissue and wipes her face. She stands up and looks at Kunal who is standing there with his hands on the hips.

Siddhi: Kitne khoosat hain aap? Itna kuch ho jaane ke baad bhi itni aasani se divorce ki baat kar rahe hain.

Kunal: Arre bhai, aisa kya ho gaya?

Siddhi: Kya matlab? Itne mahinon mein kuch nahin hua jiski wajah se aapka divorce ka decision change ho jaaye?

Kunal: Na. Agar tum case ki baat kar rahi ho to uske liye maine tumhe thanks bol diya hai.

She looks at him. He has a smirk on his face. She realizes something.

Siddhi: Theek hai, aapko yahi chahiye to main kal aapke saath jaake divorce le lungi. Aur judge ke chamber mein ek aansoo bhi nahin niklega. Lekin meri bhi ek shart hai. Main yeh ghar chodkar tab tak nahin jaungi jab tak aap khud mujeh yahan se nikal nahin dete. Mujeh apni zindagi se nikalna chahte hain to aapko khud mujeh bahar phekna hoga. Hai aap mein itni himmat?

Kunal is surprised. His hands drop. He gives a small smile.

Kunal: Kyun bhai? Apne hi sar par nariyal maarne ka bahut shauk hai kya?

Siddhi: Haan mera sar bahut strong hai. Aur waise bhi mujeh nariyal pani bahut pasand hai.

Kunal: Theek hai agar tum yahi chahti ho to main khud karunga tumhari packing. Taxi bhi bula doonga. Aur khud chalkar tumhe Kapil ke paas chod dunga. Ab to theek hai?

Now it's Siddhi's turn to be taken back for a second. She looks defiant.

Siddhi: Nahin, theek nahin hai. Main yahan se kahin nahin jaungi. Aap mera saaman pack kar doge, taxi bula doge, phir bhi main usme nahin baithungi. Kyunki main aapse pyar karti hoon aur aapko chodkar nahin reh sakti.

Kunal looks triumphant.

Kunal: Aakhir sach zubaan tak aa hi gayi na.

Siddhi's face softens. She realizes what she has said. Kunal is smiling.

Kunal: Pata tha mujeh.

He leans forward a little and taunts her.

Kunal: Kyun, ho gaya na pyar.

Siddhi: Haan to?

Siddhi knows she is blushing. So she turns, walks away and stands near the half-berth. Kunal follows her.

Siddhi is fiddling around. Kunal is enjoying her discomfort.

Kunal: Tumhara koi dosh nahin. Main hoon hi aisi cheez.

Siddhi looks up and sees his taunting face.

Siddhi: Haan ek number ke gusse-waale, akdoo aur boring. Meri mat mari gayi hai kya? Aap theek hi kehte ho. Humko divorce le hi lena chahiye. Kyunki aapko to koi pharak nahin padta, hai na? Aap to mere liye taxi bhi bula doge.

She is using his ploy against him and he knows it. His smile disappears for a second.

Kunal: Na. Mujeh tumhare upar bilkul bhi bharosa nahin hai. Taxi mein bithane jaunga aur saare mohalle ke saamne koi aisa naatak karogi ki bachi badi mushkil se lauti hui izzat bhi paani mein jaayegi. Maine decide kar liya hai, nahin lena divorce. Kisi bhi tarah reh lunga tumhaare saath.

Siddhi: Saari zindagi.

Kunal: Baat to yahi hui hai.

Siddhi: Soch lo, ek hi chat ke neeche. Mujeh tolerate kar loge?

Kunal: (He sighs deeply) Kahan phas gaya yaar. Ek to aurat, upar se lawyer. Aur woh bhi aisi jisne Thakral ki bhi chutti kar di.

Siddhi: Haan, isiliye kehti hoon. Ek baar phir se soch lo.

Kunal: Soch liya. Tumein jhel loonga. Waise bhi tum mera itna kaam kar deti ho. Chai, coffee bana deti ho. Kapde sambhal deti ho. Aur...

Siddhi: Aur?

Kunal: Mere bhoole bisre geet bhi sunti ho.

Siddhi: Bas itna hi?

Kunal: Haan, tumhari behan bahut sweet hai.

Siddhi throws eye daggers at him.

Siddhi: Aur kuch kehna hai.

Kunal: Na.

Siddhi: To phir main jaake Bhabhi ki help karoon kitchen mein.

Kunal: Jao.

Siddhi walks away, then comes back.

Siddhi: Aapka ego itna bada hai kya ki aapki patni ne apni dil ki baat keh di, phir bhi aap nahin keh rahe ho?

Kunal grabs her hand and tugs at her lightly. He speaks softly.

Kunal: Meri biwi agar mere dil ki baat nahin samajh paayi to usme meri galti hai kya? Waise to sab kuch samajh jaati ho.

Siddhi blushes and puts her head on his shoulder. He wraps his arms around her.
