By the time she returned to her room she saw that her husband was back into the room and was in the bathroom. She glanced at the clock and it read 11:49 pm. Only 11 minutes to go before the day returned that she had committed herself to this lovely person and later bought into her life three lovely angels. It was going to be 10 years since the day she had married him. It had been the happiest day of her life and till today it was the best thing she had ever done.
Xarina felt strong arms go around her waist bringing her out of her thoughts. Xarina very well knew whose arms they were. She relaxed and turned around to embrace him. She placed her head on his chest and slipped her hands around him holding onto him. Xarina enjoyed the warmth and comfort for the umpteenth time and felt she belonged there. She nuzzled up closer and they stood there till they heard the clock strike 12.
'Happy 10th Anniversary, my love'. Amaan whispered into her ear.
'Happy Anniversary to you too'. Xarina whispered back.
Amaan loosened his hold on her and walked her to the bed; he made her sit on the edge and from his pocket took out a little box. Xarina knew what was in the box as he would always gift her something similar each year along with many other things. Sitting on one knee he flipped open the box and took out a beautiful ring. A heart shaped ring with two pear cut diamonds on each of the sides. It was a platinum ring with a gold band. It looked simply gorgeous. He knew her taste very well; she loved elegant but simple jewellery. Every year her husband gifted a lovely ring for a fresh start, to forget every upsetting thing in their relationship and making a strong intention to have only happiness, nothing but happiness.
'Xarina, will you forgive every pain I have conflicted on you this year and love me for every happiness I gave you. Will you live the next year with me in happiness and I promise to try and never make you upset. You gave me the best gifts in my life that no other women could ever give me. Thank You. I loved you, I love you and I will always love you. May i?'. Amaan gestured to put the ring on her finger.
Tears of happiness rolled down Xarina's cheeks at this heart rending speech by her husband. She loved him with all her heart and could never imagine a life without Amaan. She nodded and smiled at him, he slipped the ring onto her finger and it fit perfectly. He got up and switched the stereo on a low voice and put slow steady music. Taking Xarina's hand he swiftly twirled her and they danced in the night peacefully with no one to disturb them. Xarina loved this moment and wanted it to last forever. As they danced the window that was slightly open banged opened and it was lightening outside. Xarina did not like the lightening so she embraced Amaan and he put his arms around her, they stepped from side to side slowly. The atmosphere was full of happiness and romance, the couple danced till Xarina fell asleep holding on to Amaan. He lifted her carried her to the bed, placing her in the middle of the bed he went over to the window and shut it tightly and pulled the curtains closed. Amaan pulled the duvet over her and switched off the lights. He got himself into the bed next to his gorgeous wife. Pulling her close to him he lightly kissed her forehead; Xarina opened her eyes and saw her husband kissing her. She smiled up and him and placing her hands around his neck she pulled him down to her lips. He captured them in a hot passionate kiss. After a few seconds they came up for air; he murmured against her lips 'I love you'. 'I love you too' she murmured back.
