What makes a married Man or Woman have a go and carry on this extra marital affair?

I know this topic is fit for another new serial by EK in this same channel.. But seeing those unconfirmed reports about a new character(Harry) designed purposely to distract vikram made me share my thoughts..

A Man married for 10 years and having 3 kids ought to be content in life. But then, if his wife in the due course of time has become very possessive and a nag, then God forbid his mental balance. But that dosent warrant him to find solace outside the marriage..

Somehow down the line Vikram has started to assert himself professionally. Under the shadow of Ram he was doing most of Ram's work and running the company. Probabaly in this new firm he is getting recognition as to who he is and whats his capabilities are in a more free manner. So this has become his ego booster satisfying his professional cravings..

Personally he is still bulldozed by Neha and may crave for some breathing space and time..Hence some sympathetic ear of his boss, starts him thinking otherwise..(this is the reason I can attribute) But does it have to be necessarily this way?

Neha and Vikram are blessed with 3 children and running an household with liabilities and commitments are all part and parcel of life..Todays life in India demands a juggling of many things like soaring prices, expenses, education of kids, investments, personal time and space for one another etc. Life is always full of ups and downs adding spice and sugar to the otherwise monotony..Neha and Vikram are no exception from the thousands of such couples..

In an institution called marriage the partners have equal say( atleast in this generation couples).. Anything can be discussed and thrashed out upfront across each other..Vikram and Neha can do this very much and get their assumtions and misunderstandings straightened out..Why spoil Vikram's character and follow the cliche of this extra marital affair shown in most serials of Indian TV? Having one show precisely for this isnt enough for EK?

Okay this track may bring Raya more closer and help and support their best buddies. But still I find this unnecessary..This is my POV .

Well I have vented my ire. Now its your turn to agree or disagree..

Hi Maris, great post.

From watching today's episode, it seemed to me that Vikram will probably not have an affair. It will be one-sided, or maybe just a mis-understanding.

I may be wrong, but here are my reasons: If Vikram was having an affair with his boss, he wouldn't have been answering messages from her in front of his wife, or answering the phone call. He would have excused himself and walked away.

When Neha took his phone, he looked angry / irritated, but certainly not scared. He wasn't worried about her seeing what he was typing.

Of course , it could be that at this point it is only a work relationship and might develop into an affair later on, but based on everything we have seen of Vikram's character so far, I doubt that.

The reason they introduced this is probably because they want to bring Vikram Neha into the forefront. Now that Ram-Priya don't need their help in falling in love, there has to be a story line for Neha Vikram and this seems the most plausible. And like Angie said, this could also pave the way for Vikram going back to Kapoor industries, which of course will be needed if Sid is ever to be exposed. Right now Ram has no one in his company that he can trust as a right hand man.

I agree with u If at all she wanted to show through Neha and Vikram RAYA are getting closer she should hav used different storyline and not cheating Vikram😡

He was the only sane person in Ram's life before Priya entered why are they destroying a happy family to make serial spicefull is beyond my imagination...yes Neha is nagging sumtime but she truely loves him and also he loves her, pls Ekta don't ruin such adorable charecter of Vikram.

Let mamaji have 10 wives at a time we don't care or let Niharika have an affair with...bansi kaka no probs

I somehow feel that Vikram will not have an affair, his boss Harry could be obsessed with him/takes a fancy to him. The drama may include rifts created by the boss and Neha falling for it...Ram and Priya, the new kids on the block in terms of being in love may be shown to help Vikram and Neha.

Maris,Great post and a apt one...Let me tell you from experience that no matter how modern a marriage or how loving a wife is... it doesn't mean that some men will not stray...Hats off to Ekta for showing this very realistic reality of life...Well a real life scenario is unfolding before me ..the husband is having an affair right under the wife's nose with her friend ..Don't want to discuss personal stuff here but it doesn't take much for a man to stray especially if he's feeling he's being neglected...Sadly affairs are very much a reality...Somehow in your mind u never want a character like Viks to stray.

Maris awesome post😊 The focus on Vik's Extra Marital affair may be to spice up the story as BALH unfortunately is lacking script these days...the execution somehow leaves me wondering if CVs have hit a fatigue level as story is not pacing along... RaYa scenes are fabulous😊😳 but feel somehow rushed and all they have to show is RaYa scenes which is good😊 but than worse part is show has come to a standstill... Vik's affair might pave a way ahead and come to think of it sometimes it does happen even to the best of couples and it will be from Neha's POV as Vik might realise his infatuation and stop or it just might be Harry who is falling for Vik... it would spice up the show and hopefully RaYa scenes are about to get much spicier😊😳 what else do we need... RaYalicious episode with fantastic and engaging moments from supporting cast too so that we comeback day after day...

but you know..i will consider Neha as 50% responsible if Vikram is trying to find his space in office work!!..I don understand it why Neha always tries to control vikram?..whenever she sees him with another woman she starts thinking that her husband is having an affair with that woman..and starts questioning him who was she..what he was doing with her and bla bla bla..😕 any person will get irritated yaar!..just reverse the thing once and put neha in vikram's place!..if vikram would have questioned neha always for just talking and smiling with another man..how would neha felt? neha would have also tired to find her space by ignoring vik's phone calls and all that..wouldn't she?..🤔

i am not saying that it is fine to have an affair if ur spouse is so possessive..that is totally worng!!..but i am saying that its natural that vik is feeling irritated by neha's continuous domination over him..and he is avoiding her phone calls now!..he is trying to find his own space in his work!

I think this track is needed to add spice to the show also as Avi said this is the reality!..bcoz this is the problem of most of the married couples!!🤔..sometimes husband or the wife becomes over possessive and which causes fights..

Thats exactly what i felt too. Maybe this whole track will be a real scare for Neha and like a correction course for changing her behaviour and attitude towards Vikram..

This idea though sounds good may not work as the Evil trio's tentacles are very firm on the Kapoor industries post Vik's exit. One eg: is why should the US office call Niharika and apprise about the problem there, instead of calling Ram again and again(if hes busy)?
