So I guess many of you must have watched the oscars yesterday. It was soo well organized, the jokes and the hosting by Billy Crystal were top notch. I mean none of his jokes were below the belt and the celebrities too all the jokes sportingly.
The awards was so well organized, started right on time, the speeches were really heart warming, true and filled with real feelings and emotions. They are truely surprised, shcoked, overhwelmed when their name comes up as winners.
If any celebrity speaks more than the time limit the music comes on and then the mke is turned off.
The award categories were so apt and fits perfectly. The best part of it was in my opinion, the best actors award was given before the best actress award. A standing ovation for Octavia spencer, first time academy award winner.
overall, summing it all up, perfect
coming to indian awards, I dont why they cant organize an award function, rigging free, well organized . It looks as if all the winners already knew they were going to win, their speeches barring a few, fake, below the belt jokes, on stage fights, poor time management
why do think its so hard for indian organizers to organize an award function properly. whats holding them back, how does it go lagging...

On a philosophical note-Thats how the Indian and South Asian society is at large. Neoptism and corruption rule and merit takes a backseat.

People dissing Filmfare and praising Oscars. RT @jiteshpillaai: Filmfare trending along with oscars. Huge huge compliment.

This happened thanks to egoistic bollywood actors and their lame minds.

Some top actors cant see them losing in events..They are full of them selves and think they are superior to others. That's why some top actors started to avoid award shows..

Award shows can not be functioned with out sponsors..when egoistic stars started to ignore awards, and started to show up when they only have awards, organizers started to relly on these few and started to announce awards earlier privately to these stars.

Then we have multiple backwass award shows.

Other than that, we have the most lamest idiotic journos who dont have any knowledge on films. They started writing about fate of the movies and stupid articles about stars and their wars. Industry is divided in to camps and started to spread false reports and false news about other stars over PR.

Then we have fans, who are divided and hate each other . have zero sense of humor and Box office knowledge and think their actor's crap performance is better than others.

Oscar id filled with people, who have no ego issues, who have good sense of humor and who never think about BO or number game but only think about good quality films. Sadly when it comes to bollywood now its all about the BO number...

After watching the classy Oscars , sadly I think our Indian awards managment needs to sit and brain storm. The award events today are gaudy , loud and very crude humor.

I think Filmfare is the worst of the lot. Filmfare has become a joke bec of the CHEAP and VULGAR hosting . With the same crappy crude jokes. This in spite of FILMFARE being the Mother of all INDIAN awards.

While I agree with the rest of your post I disagree with this. You are bestowing angelic qualities to humans. 😆The people related to Oscars have the same problem as Bollywood or other woods in India. Only difference is the people are able to keep their differences and ego aside be professional and come together to celebrate awards together.

^ what she said.

All stars have gigantic egos, and big award shows based purely on how well films are marketed to the academy is JUST as self-congratulatory as the filmfare award - but but but, Hollywood has a knack for displaying it self with ease and class. Everyone is professional, the award show also belongs to 'everyone there'. Unlike Filmfare where the awards belong specifically to a gang of 4 or 5 actors with one ringleader repeatedly being thrown at our face (Yes. Shah Rukh).

Why do our actors host? we see them all freaking year in films, promotions, interviews, etc - hosting should be kept aside for comedians - they would provide real entertainment and would move the show along with the lens of an 'outsider' looking into the film industry.

I grew up watching the OSCARS, but off late even the oscars have been filled with garbage film entries - W*F happened this year? so many nonsense nominations based on connections and underhanded marketing towards the academy (prime example : extremely loud and incredibly close). Also. Billy Crystal wasn't very good at all. Not to mention the disaster that the Oscars were last year (James Franco and Anne Hathaway may have been the 2 worst oscars hosts ever).

So yeah. I think filmfare has a longgg way to go before we reach the same status of the Oscars. In several ways, may it be presentation, conduct, the entries themselves, etc. But the Oscar's are not perfect either. In-fact they get worst with every passing year.

Bollywood award functions are shit this year, SRK/Ranbir dressing up as woman was rather disturbing and Pointless I didn't find them funny at all. Zee Cine was horrible but Star-screen was the worst.

Just recently a pakistani film-maker (woman) has been given an oscar for best documentary! this shows how un-biased they are. We all know pakistan isnt known for movies much as they are low in quality but one good work which deserves to be appreciated is done by the Oscars! about indian awards, i dont even want to waste my energy on them! i guess we all know!
