It was time for Khushi's monthly visit to see her Babuji again, and this time for the first time she had Jia with her. Jia had fallen asleep on Khushi's lap on the train, however Khushi was still wide awake having flashbacks of the day she first met Jia & Rahul.
After moving away from Delhi, Khushi had moved back to Lucknow, a place she was familiar with, had an attachment to. As she had no home or place to go back to, she went to the Ashram which was closest to the home she had once lived in with her Amma & Babuji. She stayed there for a couple of days and tried looking for work whilst her stay there. One day she was just walking up to a notice board in a centre to try look for work notices when she saw a man putting up a notice. The work description stated that a widower (Rahul Sharma) needed a person who could help with cooking meals and a support for his small daughter. Lodging's would be provided, and the pay was also good. Khushi knew that this job description was exactly what Khushi needed at the moment. Khushi got the job and she knew that she was extremely lucky to have seen that notice that day, as she got to meet two of the loveliest and caring people. Rahul 's(Jia's father) wife had passed away just a few days after Jia was born due to major complications due to the pregnancy and since then Rahul had been giving Jia the love of both a mother & father. Rahul's mother had helped Rahul throughout that hard phase, however lately due to old age; Rahul knew that he needed some extra help as he did not want to pressurize his mother. Ever since Khushi had taken up the job, both Jia, Rahul & Rahuls Mother (Kanta ben) had become extremely fond of Khushi and Khushi had become a part of their family. Khushi had opened up to Rahul after a few weeks of the job about all the incidents of her life, Arnav, her parents death, everything. Rahul on the other hand had opened up to Khushi about his wife's(Saya) death and how he had managed to cope with everything after, bringing Jia up and trying to give her the love of both parents. (When Khushi met Jia, she was 1 years old) . Rahul had taken Khushi as a sister and Khushi too took him as a brother and tied him a rakhi every year. It felt to both of them like they were always meant to be siblings. Khushi gave Jia the motherly love and Jia really loved Khushi. Rahul had made Khushi Jia's God mother and her legal guardian. One day Jia had started calling Khushi 'Ma' and that day had been a very emotional day for Rahul and he was extremely grateful to god for bringing an angel into Jia's and his life in the form of Khushi. Khushi too had been extremely touched at hearing Jia call her Ma, and looked on at Rahul to see how he felt at Jia calling her Ma as she knew that she would never be able to take Saya's place as Saya was and would always be Jia's mother, however Rahul had told her that, that if Khushi was alright with it, he wanted Jia to continue calling Khushi Ma. Ever since that day, Jia had called her Ma. Throughout these years, Rahul had become very protective for Khushi as a sister and gave her everything a brother would and Khushi too felt extremely content each time she called him Bhaiya.
