PR really seems to be dragging. I understand EK wants to build suspense, but even Alfred Hitchcock didn't feel the need to hold people in such supense that the suspense fizzles and the climax is dull and uneventful. When, do they think we can get these people to meet and move on with the story, OR, is this the ONLY story that Ekta's team has prepared for us? Rather than ending the show on a cordial note several weeks ago, EK's team clearly wants to continue to reap in profits for herself and Zeetv and have dragged this story for longer than desired. I am not against an 18 year leap if they can show something different. All we've been fed is another account of Archana and Manav falling in love again. Instead of three months, it's six months (I guess EK's team really wanted to milk it this time).
I find the romantic liasions between this new generation rather dull as well. The love-hate relationship between Arjun and Purvi is exhausting to watch. I never witnessed such rudness and unprofessionalism protrayed on a show. Has EK's team never been in an office environment? We all know what to expect - Arjun and Purvi fall in love, Ovi gets angry at Archana who will chose to take Purvi's side (note she puts Purvi's name on the top of the list of her children in today's episode). Archana gets to look the bad person; Purvi sacrifices her love for her sister Ovi...Yep, that's what we're getting - some very predictable episodes. Let us not forget Savita will be thrown in the midst.
PR recent episodes fail to deal with any serious social issues (not that it was a paragon of doing it even then). The only redeming storyline and one of interest was Punni's secret life. Those were some good episodes, great lines and super performances from the actors who played Archana and Manju. That type of masala really makes you eagar to watch another episodes; tragically, writers do not capture what works and feed us with the same old same old.
I guess the only thing good for the show is to watch it while your making rotis otherwise you sighing in agony.
