CGM vs Chanakya

I just saw again the 47 episode Chanakya aired on DD 1991. Though that had a lower production value, but the script was much more believable. Both CGM and Chanakya were believable human beings and not super human as shown in CGM. The most impressive portion was the tussle between Chanakya and Alexander, in Chanakya unlike CGM, Alexander was not actually defeated as shown in CGM but after he left how Chanakya and CGM scripted the downfall of Roman representatives in India and thus resulting in rise of CGM. in CGM also they havent been shown defeated.. I dont know abt the show Chankaya that what is shown in that show. I'll surely watch the video if I get time to do so!

Actually the reason for Alexander's death was not clear to the historian. Some say that he died from a disease while others say someone conspired against him and poisoned his food. Whatever be it, one thing was clear that they withdrew their army from the borders of North west india on account of the weariness of the Greek army . Moreover they heard about the super army of Magadh [in exaggeration, ofcourse] and the Elephant army they had, so they needed to rest! On forcing by his army, Alexander went back, though the territories he won were still his on which he placed some of his Greek generals ond on some of it, his Indian representatives, For example- Porus.

In the show CGM, there is nothing as such shown that Alexander was defeated. He was defeated by only his DEATH whose reason as I said was not clear!

That is what they had shown in Chanakya. They never showed how Alex died. Only his death news reached to his generals and kings in India like Porus and Ambhik. He was never shown defeated in Chanakya it was only after his demise did Chanakya and Chandragupt made a united army to root out the remaining solders of the Greek and claim back different provinces won by them.

Basically, if you search around then there you will get that there is no perfect cause known how Alexander died, there are many stories about it, one was this ill health which is famous of all as i read this in my course book too and you can see the same die in Alexander film shown on History Channel.

So last show chanakya showed some other reason based on some other book and this show showed the most popular death of Alexander.

Some even say that, some guy of a village or Adivasi shot him a poisoned bow (teer), that led him death after 3-4 days..
So there are many reasons around, but still no reason is 100% sure.

In the show CGM also... it was shown that Chanakya convinced Porus and Calesthenes to mix poison in the drink of lexander... but Alexander was not shown drinking that drink.. if you remember.. when he was departing from India, CGM asked Chankaya that was it the effect of the poison he gave? then Chankay replied that He doesn't know abt this... Thus acc to me, the suspence of Alexander's death has been arried out quite well...

most of historians think that alexandar got poisoned and some thinks that alex had lever prob due to his drinking habbit

but i don't believe that chanakya poisoned alex coz no poison was found whr a man drinks it only twice and dies 4 years later😆

but its also true the show didn't showed that part clearly so can't say chanakya was reason of alex's death..though i don't believe chanakya even made any poisonous plan😆..he was more busy to get cgm trained in greek war strategy by entering cgm in greek soldiers...(though cgm never did any revolt in 1857 style. he was only 14 years old then)

moreover calesthinis died before alex reached india(thanks to girishji's info😆)..so he can't poison alex

there is another theory that while returning from india alex was terribly injured in malli region which led him to death atlast
