When she asked the reason behind the marriage.
He got frustrated and attacked her character, "you've got what you wanted. A rich man"
If his belief really is that she reciprocates Shyam's "love" and wanted him to break up with Anjali then he knows that's not true.
1) Shyam is poor. As has been reiterated by Shyam himself when he was telling Khushi he didn't fit into the royal Raizada household.
2) He wanted her to deny it. "You might be rich but that's not why I want to be with you..."
3) He's scared of the truth. Exposing it to her anyway and that too directly, it's better to talk in riddles...he accuses her of something which either way isn't true. What if she admits, "I don't want a rich man...I love Shyam".
It was all just an opportunity, to see how she reacted.
Opportunity wasted.
That said, I mean it regarding the truth coming out but as a viewer it's not going to happen so soon, they need to build up suspense.
Therefore, great scene overall cause I loved the fire and Khushi's persistency. Regardless of the fact she didn't answer his question, I was roooting the girl when she grabbed onto his shoulder.
Answer mine first dammit.
Go girl. 👏
