Shouldn't Sandhya be more proactive in her test?

If she has decided that she WANTS to take this test and prove herself and get Bhabho to like her, shouldn't she TRY to succeed?

From what it appears to me, she is just standing in the middle of a turbulent river and only hopes to come out of it alive, which will mean that she passed the exam.

I don't think Bhabho intends to just break her down -- or to test her limit -- Bhabho wants to see how she adapts herself in the role of a beendhni. And that's what Sandhya had set out to do as well -- to prove that along with being educated, and perhaps because of it, she is able to adjust and learn new things quickly. So I would have expected her to learn about the village -- be proactive in trying to find out how to live there and how to impress Maasa and Bhabho -- esp since some of the other women there are quite nice to her. She could have definitely taken their help. But she's just standing there all helpless.

Even in today's episode, how come the smart Sandhya just chose to sit there in the cold waiting for someone to come help her? The test wasn't supposed to kill her...if it was a test, she should have solved it with her own creativity or at least some confidence.

Even though this village segment is going to bring out Sandhya in positive light in the end, I think creatives are kind of losing Sandhya's strong and smart character along the way. She wasn't the type to be helpless and dependent. What happened?

I totally agree...Even in today's episode Bhabo and then eventually Suraj showed up to help her out.

its like everytime suraj ll come n help her in someway... n the bad thing is she ll be waiting for tat... n she doesn't show any expression after taking the help from suraj... i pity tat guy...

Nice post! Its useless now to expect anything from Sandhya until the last day she will be like this...not trying in anyways all she says is it's my test and i have to bare it? c'mon girl where is the logic behind it?

Completely agree with you. I expected Sandy to come up with something like litting campfire or do something on her own rather then just sitting there while it is watched by Bhabho and Suraj. It would have been much better. Also, agree that she should be more proactive and prove her smartness to Maasa but CVs have something else in their mind and want to portray a helpless Sandy always.

she has gone useless, dumb, mute, expressionless and 100% pathetic. i have given up on her long ago. no matter how much she is tortured i don't feel any pity for this girl. if she herself can't stand against the injustice being done to her then who will. at this rate even sooraj cannot save her. Maasa was right in saying about sooraj to bhabho that 'aisa patthar chore ke gale mein dala hai ki zindagi bhar uski gardan logon ke samne jhuki hi rahegi'. what has sandhya done to make sooraj feel proud about her? nothing. along with her he also has to stand lowering his head. she shouldn't forget that along with her, his life is also at stake.

i won't blame sooraj for not saying anything to bhabho or maasa regarding sandhya. when she herself accepts all the injustice without saying a single word then what's the use of him shouting. sandhya will only interfere and say 'why are you speaking like this. go apologize to them' At the end of the day he would have become bali ka bakra. so it's better for him to keep his mouth shut. i feel really bad for sooraj. even though he does so much for her, in return what does she do? nothing, other than giving him pain by hiding serious matters. whatever bhabho said when sooraj's leg was hurt about sandhya is the absolute truth and i agree with her 100%.

Sandhya's out of characterness is intolerable. this show is getting dark as days are passing by (unfortunate thing is it's in no. 1 position because of it so no hope of any darkness reduction) and the only light moments are sandhya-sooraj's so called romance. in the marriage beginning these staring, stolen glances, hand touching, smiling was good but continuing it even after so many months of marriage is not appealing at all. yesterday i felt so bad for sooraj when a sad music was playing in the background when he realized that sandhya dancing with him was only a dream. my sympathies to him.

In the school of romance sandhya has been in kindergarden for so long that i have given up on her in this area too that she will ever graduate and will go to elementary section. i honestly don't have the patience to wait for another year to see sandhya for the first time taking the initiative to touch sooraj's hand. if scriptwriters don't show what the viewers are demanding then there is really no use in showing what the demanded scene was when viewers has lost their interest and temper and are ready to throw whatever they get their hands on to the tv screen.

guess CV's r aiming at developing the love story of Sandhya Suraj n towards the end of 15 days, bhabho will prolly overhear meena, chavi etc. talk shit abt her n she will suddenly start valuing Sandhya ! in 15 days since sooraj - sandhya came close, bhabho will cancel her plan of kicking out Sandhya...aise bhi she's somewhat fond of Sandhya but out of her own ego , she's enjoying seeing Sandy suffer at the hands of masa ! what was 15 days test all about? Sandhya was supposed to learn household work, buy veggies, mehandi etc. etc.? that's not possible in 15 days..yes, bhabho had to see the dedication in her & affection towards in laws !
