Gurmeet Choudhary (Hindi: ?????? ????? ?????? ??????, born 22 February 1984) is an Indian actor most noted for his role in the 2008 television series Ramayan as Lord Rama and his current role in one of the most successful and popular show on STAR One - Geet- Hui Sabse Parayi as the dynamic business tycoon, Maan Singh Khurana.

Early life

Choudhary was born in Chandigarh to Sitaram Choudhary, originally from Patna, Bihar. Since his father worked for the Indian Army, Gurmeet moved several times. He was mainly brought up in Jabalpur, Madhyapradesh. During his school days, he was involved in conceptualizing and acting in plays. While his brother chose to enter the medical profession, Gurmeet decided to become an actor. Gurmeet Choudhary also did modeling in his early days and having won the title of 'Mr.Jabalpur', he participated in a "Mr. India" contest.

Career

Rise to Fame

In 2006, Gurmeet debuted as the lead negative character in Indian television's first 3D TV series, Mayavi, a Tamil language production by GV Films for Jaya TV which was later dubbed for the Telugu and Malayalam television audiences as well which won him a popular fan base in South India.

Choudhary's next appearance on television was as Lord Ram, for the religious series Ramayan for NDTV and this created a broader fan base for him across India. He later participated in a reality series Pati, Patni aur Woh along with his wife Debina Bonnerjee for NDTV Imagine.

He became successful with lead role as Maan Singh Khurana for the STAR One channel's popular series Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi opposite female lead Drashti Dhami, where he essays the role of a complex business magnate. This series has been earning him wide accolades for his method acting.

Personal life

Gurmeet Choudhary married Debina Bonnerjee on 15 February 2011 at a private ceremony.

Gurmeet Choudhary who made huge number of FANS, within a short span of time on television as Ram of Ramayan.

Personal Life:
Gurmeet was born in the city of Patna at Bihar but brought up in Jabalpur at Madhyapradesh. He did his studies from Jabalpur.
His family includes father Mr. Sitaram Choudhary, who was in the army, mother & a Doctor brother. Gurmeet got to reside in most parts of India due to his army background.

Early Career:
Gurmeet did modeling in his early days & tried really really hard for almost 5 yrs to make his mark in the entertainment industry.
During his struggle time (of 5 yrs) he did modeling & worked in a South Indian tv show "Maayavi", Maayavi was a huge hit down south.
He also did a small role in the movie "Koi Aapsa", he played a college friend to the actor Aftab Shivdasani.
Gurmeet acted in few music videos & he also did few movies down south.

Television:
One day Gurmeet just went to the office of SAGARS to get some work, as soon as Mr. Prem Sagar saw Gurmeet, he was completely smitten by the soothing & pleasing personality and the humbleness of Gurmeet and immediately decided to cast him in the role of Ram.
Gurmeet along with his fiancee, participated in "Pati, Patni aur Woh" and garnered the highest number of votes.
Currently Gurmeet is playing the role of Maan Singh Khurana, a dynamic business tycoon, in Geet Hui Sabse Parayi.
Recently Gurmeet, also bagged a role in a Mukta Arta Movie (by Subhash Ghai), he got the role of a football player in the movie, the title of that movie is Cycle Kick.

Achievements:
Gurmeet bagged the title of MR. Jabalpur, he also participated in MR. India contest.
Gumeet also got an award from Anuvibha Sadhna Kendra Jaipur.
Gumeet got the New Talent award of the Best New Male Actor for his awesome performance as Ram in The Ramayan.

Hobbies:
Gurmeet loves reading in his spare time, he also loves to collect goggles, he has a good collection of goggles & sunglasses. Gurmeet loves to learn martial arts whenever he gets time.
