"Humne Manvi ke liye perfect match dhoond liya hai. " the words refused to leave Virat's mind as he sat on the chair in the balcony, staring into empty space. "Perfect match? For Manvi? Yeah right. And what am I then? Her hairdresser?! 6 feet lamba, chauda insaan unko dikhaai nahi diya? Ye Buaji ko hamesha imported products pasand hai ye toh main jaanta hun. Ab ye complicated manchurian sab kyun paka rahi hai yaar! " Virat thought to himself as he blew out the 1000th bubble from the bubble blower Manvi had gifted him.
After the whole 'Maya bhagaao' mission was completed successfully, Manvi had taught him this 100% guaranteed method of calming his nerves. When she had given him that neon pink bubble blower as his birthday gift 2 months ago, he had almost lost his eyesight due to the 'trendy' colour. He was all set to dump it on Dabbu when the words inscribed on it struck his eyes. "Ye sirf mera gift nahi hai..mera small sized clone samajh lena. Apne gusse ko is mein blow karo aur isme se ek khoobsurat sa bubble niklega. Har bubble ke baad mujhe yaad karna. Problem khud hi bhaag jaayega." That was it. From that day on Virat hadn't allowed anybody to even touch it. It was his and his only. His bandariya's gift for him alone.
As Virat was blowing the next bubble he saw Manvi come onto the terrace out of the corner of his eye. Actually he didn't even have to see her to know that she was coming. Her fragrance said it all. Virat had earlier gifted Maya a perfume , in London when he had stupidly thought that he was in love. But after Manvi had entered, his life needed no more searches. Virat had wanted to gift his bandariya something unique like her bubble blower. He knew that she loved perfumes but after having gifted one similarly to Maya before he didn't want to degrade Manvi by gifting her the same. So, he had done something out of the ordinary. He had personally chosen flowers, her favourites and had called in a special favour from his friend who made perfumes. Virat had gotten a personalised perfume made just for Manvi, so that only he would know when she would be there beside him. Manvi had loved it so much that she had even fought with her Di to have sole ownership over it.
Manvi saw Virat sitting alone ,blowing the bubbles and smiled to herself. "Akele akele mazaa kar rahe ho Qutub minar?" she asked slyly and went over to sit near him. Virat had once told Manvi that he was getting bored of the same nickname for all situations. He had given her so many nicknames right? So he told her that he wanted something other than Chep as well. After a minute's thought Manvi had named him Qutub Minar. Virat thought it was pretty lame but then came to know that Manvi loved the monument. Well, the name had stuck to him but only for Manvi.
Virat ignored the question and continued his blowing hour. Manvi knew that he was upset with what Buaji had told but she also knew something that he didn't and she wasn't going to reveal it so fast. "Tumhe pata hai, main bohut excited hoon! Finally ye log meri shaadi ke baare mein soch rahe hain! Mujhe toh laga tha ki Di ke baad Beeji bhool hi gayi thi ki main bhi ladki hi hoon aur seedhe Dabbu ki shaadi karva deti! Tumhe kya lagta hai, woh ladka kaisa hoga? Mujhe pasand karega?" Manvi pestered Virat, mentally doing a countdown for his patience to snap. And she was right. "Bilkul nahi! Woh ladka tumhe bilkul pasand nahi karega do you understand?" Virat erupted , turning completely towards Manvi now "Aur mere khayal se woh koi Amazon jungle ka 'hoohoo haha' karta hua Tarzan hi hoga. Kyunki bandariya ke liye toh bandar ko hi dhoondna hoga na?!" Virat provoked her , while feeling furious that she wasn't feeling angry or sad about the next day. For christ's sake, didn't she know?! Didn't she have the slightest hint that he was the only one who had a right on her? The only one who would ever marry her?! Virat got up in a huff and went to stand near the railing.
Manvi controlled her smile and went near him slowly, standing just next to him but staring straight ahead into the bright night. " Shayad tum sahi bol rahe ho. Wo ladka shayad bilkul gorilla jaisa hoga. Par kya karen? Mujhe aur koi ladka mil bhi toh nahi sakta na? Beeji ne toh haar maan li, ab agar Buaji ko mil gaya hai to isme main kya karun? Aise bhi toh nahi hain na ki mere liye koi rajkumar aayega. Jo mujhse pyar kare?" Manvi sighed dramatically. "Aur agar aa gaya toh?" Virat turned towards her expectantly, his eyes shining with hope. "Chodo na Virat… Kaun pagal mujhse pyar karega? Mujhme aisa hai hi kya…? Manvi trailed off but was stopped when Virat grabbed her shoulders and made her look at him. "Don't you dare say it samjhi? Manvi you don't know what you are. You …you are more beautiful than the innocent baby which lights up a mother's life, you are purer than the first flow of water from a newly melting glacier, your smile is brighter than the full bloomed farm of sunflowers and your heart…tumhaare dil itna bada hai ki isme shayad meri poori zindagi samaa jaye" Virat said softly cupping her face. Manvi had expected Virat to say something but nothing this beautiful. She was speechless but her eyes spoke for themselves through her tears.
Virat knew that it was now or never. So, he went down on one knee and held out his hand "Manvi, mere paas aaj koi keemti diamond ring nahi hai…yahan koi melodious music nahi hai or na hi koi roses hain jo tumpe barsenge…Par mere paas kuch aisa hai jo sirf tumhaare liye hai…Aur wo hai mera dil. Par shayad main wo bhi tumhe nahi de sakta kyunki who toh tumne bohut pehle hi mujhse chura liya tha. So, aaj main tumhe kuch doonga nahi…instead main tumse kuch maangna chahtha hoon" Virat paused, taking a deep breath " Manvi, kya tum mujhe apni is khoobsurat zindagi mein apna sabse khaas jagah de sakti ho? Kya main woh khush naseeb ban sakta hoon jo tumhaare aansun ko hasi mein badal sakta hoon hamesha? Jise tum apne saare dukh dedo is bharose par ki main tumhe khushiyan hi doonga? Will you be my life forever? Kyunki partnership main utna mazaa nahi jo complete ownwership mein hain na? Aur main toh completely tumhaara hoon. " Virat ended and gave a sheepish smile. Manvi felt tears run down her eyes but her mouth curved on its own into a smile. She too knelt down and cupped Virat's face in her hands " Virat, agar tum bolte bhi nahi, tab bhi main sirf tumhaare saath apni life spend karti. Tumhaara dil mere paas hai par meri toh jaan hi tumhaare paas hai na buddhoo! Kya kare? " she said while wiping away the tears which had involuntarily rolled down Virat's eyes.
Virat and Manvi hugged each other, thanking the stars in the sky for guiding them to their true love. Suddenly Manvi pulled back and started laughing. Virat was puzzled and looking at him Manvi laughed more but finally calmed down "You know what? Actually tumhe tension lene ki koi zaroorat nahi thi. " Manvi said slyly " Kyunki kal koi ladka nahi aane wala hai. Wo toh bas Buaji ka plan tha tumse sach bulvaane ka. Warna toh shayad tum ab bhi kuch nahi bolte na?" Manvi teased him. Virat first felt angry but then started laughing along with Manvi. Both of them sat under the stars for a while , silently promising each other never to stop loving each other. As they planned their future in joy, the stars twinkled to each other, preparing for another story to tell to the world.
