ONE SHOT : WHY SHOULD I MARRY YOU, ARNAVJI?
He switched off his phone before pushing it inside his pocket as he turned to look at her. She was sitting in the lonely mandir, where he had dragged her to get married, with stiffened back. Fear was evident in her eyes. Looking at her pleading face, he wanted to hold her in his arms saying that everything is going to be fine.
From corner of her eyes, she saw his legs and the second she realized he was about to sit, she jolted up from her place. He straightened himself as he looked at her. There was no trace of fear and anguish which he saw five minutes before. She was calm and composed. He gave her a questioning look.
She folded her arms against her chest before sighing. "Why should I marry you, arnavji? I don't find any reason to marry you." She stated calmly. He shot back "oh, really? I gave you enough explanation. You are going to do this, right now. Otherwise.."
He looked at her in disbelief as her words sank in his head. She added "if we do this, I don't think jiji will be happy if she comes to know I sacrificed my life for her. This won't do any good to her. I believe aakashji loves her very much and he won't punish her for no mistake of hers. Moreover if their love is true, then no one can separate them."
She moved closer to him as she shouted "who are you, arnavji? Who are you to me? Why should I prove my innocence to you? Why should I prove my love towards your sister to you? Why should I?" she stepped back as she concluded " and I don't think you will believe me even if I do this."
The thought of her leaving him, maddened him as he spoke through gritted teeth "how can I believe you? You were hugging him in my house." she retorted back "so you think marrying me and making me stay under same roof with him will make things better."
He was flabbergasted. She looked at his face which was still unrecovered from shock and smirked. Knowing that he will not be able to find any other reason, she sat back quietly shocking him more. He looked down at her as she gestured at pandit, who looked shell shocked hearing their conversation, to continue with rituals, making him more shocked.
He looked at her. This was the girl he fell in love with. Suddenly he understood why he did this. He may have easily thrown out of their life and he could have made sure that they never meet. He didn't take this decision in haste. He wanted her to be his. Always his.
