TOI - Pooja Joshi doesn't like most TV shows!

Young actress Pooja Joshi, who plays Varsha in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, says that she can't relate to most current shows

She has become a household name for her portrayal of the immensely popular Varsha in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and the popularity was pretty apparent when she visited Vadodara recently for a promotional event. She got mobbed and had to sign numerous autographs. Says an excited Pooja, "I am really happy that the show has become successful and it's really wonderful that people have loved my character so much. I couldn't have asked for more in the early stage of my career, and the fact that it has completed three long years shows that good content always works."

Elaborating further, she says, "Sometimes, when I watch a few of the daily soaps, I can't relate at all to the stories and characters. On the other hand, Varsha is a character that is really close to my heart. Besides, the show teaches good values, which is really great."

Talking of the experience of visiting Vadodara, she says, "I loved the fact that it's a quiet city. Sagar Film City was wonderful too. Coming to Gujarat is always fun and recently, I loved visiting Jamnagar also."

On a parting note, she says, "I love the way my career has shaped up. In the long run, I would love to do films."
