PART ONE
Virat didn't know why was he so eager to meet his mystery girl. Sure, she had talked to him, as a friend, helped him to overcome his temper. He was amazed how she managed to had that soothing effect on him.
He cornered Maanvi. Somehow, he wanted to talk to the mystery girl in person and thank her.
"Maanvi!" Virat smiled at her, "woh actually-"
Maanvi smiled back, "kya hai, chep?"
She urged him to speak.
He mumbled something like,
"mujhe Tumhari Dost Ke Baare Mein jaanna hai!"
She smiled again at his eagerness. He just couldn't wait to meet his mystery girl, "dost? Kaunsi dost?"
He turned pink and muttered, "usne bataya nahi?"
She decided to play along, "kisne? "
Virat shook his head, Oh! why did he had to get obsessed with his mystery girl? He was just making fun of himself before everyone.
"Well, actually, "
Virat grimaced.
"Oh! Yaad aaya!" Maanvi pitied the young man infront of her, "Mannu ne subah hi phone kiya tha!"
Virat smiled and took a deep breath, "Yaad aaya?"
"well, ek do dinon mein Main tumhe usse milvaa kar rahoongii!"
Virat grinned and did something that threw her off-guard, "Oh thank you Maanvi!"
He hugged her. It was a friendly hug. She was NEVER hugged by anyone, other than her di. It felt so good, to be in his arms. Virat seemed so caring, yet gentle. She closed her eyes as he let herself relax in his arms.
"Oh, right! Toh hum kal jaayenge! Tumhari dost se milne!"
her moment of bliss ended as he released her quickly, running upstairs.
She stood there. What just happened?

The days went slow, the shaadi rasms were however, progressing at greater speed. He had to attend an interview. But he was scared. What if the company felt if he was a complete failure and reject him?
But Mannu, his phone friend was there, offering support, "kya kamee hai tum mein? Usne agar reject kiya toh, Woh bahut pachthayega. Tumhe yeh job zaroor milegi... Aur tumhe job ki kya zaroorat hai? Dadaji se baat karke dekho! Apne hi company keliye kaam karsakoge.. "
"Right, thanks!" Virat couldn't attend the interview, but he was glad to hear her words, how she stood up for him.
* * * A few days later
Virat and Maanvi were seated in the garden, enjoying the cool weather. It was mehendi rasm that day, Maanvi was thankful for that.
"Vaise.. aaj mehendi rasam hai.. toh, I can't take you.. you know!"
Virat nodded, "I know."
"Kya baat hai.. Upset ho kya? Ithna kyon milna chahthe ho usse.. "
Maanvi was curious. Virat smiled.
"Oh, well. Woh meri phone friend hai... Dil ki bahut achi hai. Mujhe ache se samajhthi hai.. Use shayad nahin patha.. par usne meri duniya badaldi! Useene mujhe samjhaya ki zindgi ka mathlab kya hotha hai.. Aaj maine Dadaji se baat ki.. Company mein woh muje ek chance dena chahthe hai.. You won't believe but Mannu was there, always! Like a friend. I just want to meet her and say thank you for what she is.. I just wanna thank her for being there for me!"
Maanvi smiled. She didn't know, she was of so much help.
"Oh, toh! Mannu, tumhari dost hai hmm? Ya phir kuch zyada?"
Maanvi didn't know why she was asking that.
Virat shrugged, "patha nahin! But, well.. I really like her.. a lot! Kabhi kabhi toh aisa lagtha hai ki.. agar us jaisi jeevan saathi mili toh.. zindgi kithni aasan ho jayegi.. You know, she knows how to deal with me.. and my mood swings!"
True. Maanvi knew how he easily gets annoyed when any one mentioned his past, how he tries to shine as a businessman, how he struggles to prove his point. He would get mad sometimes, the other moment he was back to being Mr.cool.
"Toh shaadi karne ka iraada hai?" Maanvi asked, turning slightly pink at the thought. Marrying Virat? Well, why not? He's sweet, caring, fun-loving, not to mention utterly handsome. Maanvi smacked her head. When did she started thinking of him this way?
"Patha nahin.. but yeah, to be honest iraada hai! Thodi jaan-pehchaan ho jaaye! May be, we could do that!"
Before, Maanvi could ask any further. Vanshika interrupted them.
"Tum log yahan ho.. Are beta, mehendi rasm ke liye kuch zaroori samaan chahiye tha! Maanvi beti, jaake le aao! Virat beta, zara tu bhi uske sath jaana!"

The drive to Purani Haweli was pleasant one. It was one of the oldest bazaars in the city. Virat promised her to take her to the fort located in the adjoining area.
Once done with shopping, they locked the saaman inside the car and were observing the fort when a rather drunken youth caught hold of Maanvi's hand.
"Badtameez!" Maanvi yelled as she wriggled her arm out of his grasp.
"Sheher mein nayii aayi hogi.. chalo hum tumhe haweli dikhaadenge.. kyon, jaan? Humre saath chalogi?"
Maanvi gave him a disgusting look and turned around. Virat had already left. How could he be so daft to leave a girl alone!
"Chodo! Haat chodo mera!" Maanvi grimaced as the guy latched onto her arm, "Virat!"
"Chod do bhai.. Varna pachthaoge!"
Maanvi was greatly relieved to hear Virat's remarks. With one hand, Virat pushed the guy and pulled Maanvi aside, "honestly! Tum mere peeche aasathi thi na, kyon khathra modlethi ho bandariya!"
Maanvi glared at him.
The drunken youth had returned, "oye chokri.. toh tumhe ye ladka pasand hai! Thodi der samajhlo ki hum hi aapke humsafer hai, kyon?"
"Tu phirse.." Virat shot him a dirty look, "Maanvi! Lets get away from here!"
Maanvi smirked. She hoped Virat would hit the guy at least, "Usne Mannu ko bhi cheda... kaise insaan ho tum? Use ek punch toh desakthe the!" She exclaimed.
Virat closed the car door that he had opened. In one fluid motion, he backed the guy against the stone wall, gave him a nice punch.
"Humare ilaake mein aake hume maartha hai.. Oye yaaron zara dekhlena ise!"
A group of youth who looked like gangsters came over running.
"Virat! Lets go! Agar tumhe kuch hogaya toh! Ghar chalthe hai.. " Maanvi was tensed.
Virat ignored her and the fight began. Virat kicked and punched the bad guys and Maanvi couldn't help but smile.He was doing it for Mannu, for her!
"Kameena! ladkiyon ko chedtha hai.. ise police ke hawale kardetha hoon!"
Virat pushed the guys, a considerable crowd gathered around them.
"Ab chalo! Mannu khush ho jayegi.. Vaise usko kisine nahin cheda... Maine jhoot bola tha! Thanks and sorr- "
"Maine yeh tumhare liye kiya! I know ki tum jhoot bol rahi thi... "
Maanvi hung her head. Virat got into a fight because of her.
"Acha hua usne Mannu ko nahin cheda.. agar usne aisa kiya hoga toh.. " Virat gritted his teeth.
"Toh?" a slight smile played at her lips.
"Maine use zinda nahi chodiya hotha.."
Maanvi smiled again. Tears gathered in her beautiful eyes.
"That was so sweet of you! Ithna pyaar karthe ho usse?"
Virat closed his eyes. There was no denial now, "main khud nahin jaantha uthna zyaada!"

It doesn't involve Virat marrying another girl or stuff like that :) It will be a happy ending for them :) 'Cause I love HAPPY ENDINGS!😆
