Unanswered Questions ' Some Time Away From You

For Arnav the Wedding came and went. He had decided to stay clear of her path and he did.

That she took her breath away when she entered, all dressed up as if she had just walked out of a Bridal Couture magazine, was beyond his control.

That his heart missed a beat whenever they chanced to pass by each other was another story.

That the prospect of being away from her now seemed the hardest ordeal he had been through was what he wasn't ready for.

That his heart ripped apart every time she smiled radiantly at NK or held his hand was a pain not really new to him.

She was like a song that kept playing in his mind, like a fragrance that enveloped him. All this showed him clearly how difficult, despite being right, his decision was. The decision to spend some time away from her, away from everyone, all by himself to sort things out.

For Khushi the Wedding was a test of her nerves. At one side was her Jiji getting married to the man she loved, then there was her family, all tensed due to Mamiji's antics and last and certainly not the latest was Arnav Singh Raizada. This man had the ability to keep her on nerves' ends without so much as lifting a finger. Firstly, no one had the right to look so handsome, unyielding yet so endearing.

Secondly, he had a different look today which tugged at Khushi's heart. She wanted to go to him and ask how he was but knew she will stammer and stutter like a six years old.

Third, he had an aura of mystery around him today, she could feel something coming up but failed to put her finger on it.

Fourth, she wanted with all heart to be indifferent to him, for hatred and love are two extremes of the same continuum. She didn't want anything to do with him. Yet she failed miserably at it. Missed heart beats, shaky legs, strong attraction to him were all signs that she couldn't put up with her resolution. She will have to do something, very soon. She must find a way to stay away from him. "please Devi maiyaan help me to keep away from him," she prayed earnestly, little did she know that her prayers had been answered even before she had prayed.

Arnav had to really keep himself from taking Khushi in his arms when she cried at the time of Bidai. Every step she took towards the exit, he felt on his heart, he felt his heart beat a little slower for he didn't know how long it will be before he will see her. Right at the end she turned and their eyes met. He just stared trying to capture the image in his mind so that he will be able to survive without her.

Khushi was puzzled by what she saw in his eyes, was he going somewhere she had a crazy thought. His eyes carried a farewell look; even her heart was sending her some strange signals. She stood there for a second more, she didn't know why she had looked back, why she had lingered on for some seconds.

Arnav leaned back and rested his head on the seat. The flight had taken off on time and was going to land in an hour's time. "So, I go to seek some answers," he thought, "What exactly am I looking for an answer to?" he questioned himself. For some time now he had figured the answers for his questions but the one that stared at him menacingly was the one he wasn't willing to answer. But his questions will remain unfulfilled if he didn't answer this one. "Will I be able to tell her all?" he winced only at the thought'''..

Next morning Khushi wasn't surprised at hearing about Arnav's departure. Hadn't she felt it yesterday, in the way he had looked at the end? She kept talking to and smiling with everyone casually, for it had been some time that she had learnt the skill of behaving normal even if she was in a state of turmoil from inside. The early death of her parents had taught her a lot. And now her first love, will she lose it so early? '''..
