Acting as a villain

It is difficult to someone who is good previously that we identify as such to convince audiences in later shows of being a villain, Giaa Manek says in her next role as an actress she would like to be a villain or baddie... I think it's impossible for someone like Giaa Manek to pull it off, that is my personal opinion.

It would have been great in Saathiya the time Rashi was good, for Giaa to become bad, as they are always the opposite of each other, to become completely self absorbed with her injuries and not being able to walk, and ringing the bell every 5 minutes, insisting Kokila to press her legs and massage with oil, it's a lost opportunity now, when Aham wanted to rub oil on her feet, let him with a gloating look, when Kokila comes at the door, when Kokila tells Aham I will do it, Gopi looks at Aham with the look that I want you to do it, and Aham does it against his mother, all this reconciliation of Rashi and Jigar, though was masterminded by Gopi, they could have made it better, get the two women at loggerheads, Koki vs her bahu Gopi, and Gopi becomes two faced like Rashi was, before she realises the business is suffering when Aham is being her slave at home, and she becomes good again, it would have been nice to see if Giaa Manek could pull off a grey character and would have told her that is it possible for audiences to accept her as such or not, or if she even enjoyed it.

As I said I think she couldn't pull it off, we would not accept it, and that's the reason the CV's have stuck her the same and not changed her character.

What do others think, give examples of actresses who played good then later on convincingly delivered as a villain.

I remember that, I watched it, It was good Arushi was her name right...yah, but Giaa Manek as Gopi and Arushi are different, but it was a missed opportunity by the CV's if they had done it, as she was getting self absorbed when she thought she couldn't walk again...if the CV's had done it a little earlier and she could have become a baddie and show us if Giaa could pull it off, but we will never know now. At least not in Saathiya, perhaps her future roles.

I do think Giaa as an actress could portray a negative character. In a different avatar I don't see why she wouldn't be able to. She has great acting ability.

There are many other actresses who have played both types of roles such as Kajol in "Gupt" and Preity Zinta in "Armaan".
