Hey all,
Been meaning to make this post for a while, but got carried away with other exciting scenes and forgot all about it. But watching the pre-cap has spurred me on to actually write this. Dunno what everyone else thinks but this is my humble opinion. I don't mean to offend anyone's views by it 😉
Basically, I have no idea why the CVs are ruining the character of Shyam...by which I mean...ruining what started out to be one of the most hateful villainous characters ever! Seriously, I was so tired of the usual loud saree loud make-up vamps, that to get a shudh-Hindi spoken, polite, highly educated (he's a highly respected lawyer) villain was a rarity. Even with the change in his character from a caring family friend to a top-notch perverted psycho, I was still rooting for the anti-hero in this soap! No joke...i really like my love stories in doses, with interesting twists in between like Shyam's story or Mamiji's machinations!
But now its all changed...the evil Shyam has become a complete and utter buffoon...his plans are OTT and completely brainless, his lines are few and far between, his facial expressions are the same (like a zombie in most frames)...all in all, its become a complete JOKE! The sad part is that there is no sense in having him in the show...popping up from time to time with a scorpion or a flammable perfume...its utter nonsense to me. If they want to have a villain, why do they not bother developing that character?!? I really thought Shyam's character in its own way, had a lot of potential, could've been developed much better. 😭
And the truly sad part is that I feel Abhaas Mehta is one of the better actors in this soap...at the beginning I was really in awe with the way he simultaneously played the evil psycho (who nearly killed Khushi's father), while playing the level-headed jeejaji to the Raizadas. Poor Abhaas has nothing better to do these days other than ham, grimace at the screen and carry out inane plot after inane plot! I would not be surprised if this talented actor leaves the show soon because I see nothing creative being written for him, which is a shame. 😡
Just like electrifying jodis make a show popular, I firmly believe so can a truly well-etched out anti-hero...just look at the movie Darr...the only character I remember from that movie is Shah Rukh's (no offence to the other actors)...so its really a shame that the CVs are discarding Shyam's role in this way, focusing completely on the one track (lovely though it certainly is) and not making full use of the acting skills of people like Abhaas, Akshay and am sure even Deepali 😕
