It's not that only movies in Bollywood are taking the south route by bringing in the remakes of hit flicks down there.

Even small screen is smitten by the south TV series; earlier UTV Television churned out the daily Mayke Se Bandhi Dor aired on Star Plus, which was the remake of Kolangal aTamil show that aired on Sun TV; and at present Dil Se Di Dua... Saubhagyavati Bhava, aired on Life Ok also happens to be a remake of a Telugu serial, Shravanthi.

Well, now the next offering from UTV isShubh Vivah to be aired on Sony Entertainment, is also a south remake. It is the reprised version of Tamil series Metti Oli. The show in talks revolves around the lives and pains of a father and his five daughters. Santosh Nair, coo UTV Television said, "All the shows that we have remade have been hits down south. We have been lucky that the audiences have accepted them well, because to suit the taste of the Hindi audiences we have to incorporate a few changes in the original".

Other than being a south series' remake, the show will even mark the comeback of Eijaz Khan, who was last seen doing a cameo in Bhaskar Bharti. The series will have Rakesh Bedi playing father to five daughters, essayed by Neha Narang,Shafaq Naaz, Vinny Arora, Krutika Gaikwad and Neha Janpandit.

Let us see if the Hindi show recreates the magic of original!
