Zee TV gears up to launch Punar Vivah on 20 Feb

Mumbai: Hindi general entertainment channel Zee TV will launch a new fiction property, Punar Vivah, on 20 February.

Produced by Shashi-Sumeet Mittal, the show captures the journey of a man and a woman, who, having faced a debacle in their first attempts at marriage, are brave enough to give life a second chance.

The show delves into the dynamics of re-marriage, showcasing the trials and tribulations that are a part of re-adjusting to a second life partner.

The show will air Monday-Friday at 10.30 pm slot. It will be replacing Bhagonwali - Baante Apni Taqdeer that goes off-air on 17 February.

Zee TV head- fiction programming Sukesh Motwani said, "In keeping with Zee TV's recently launched brand positioning of 'Umeed Se Saje Zindagi', we are proud to present a new show that resonates well with the spirit of enduring hope.

"Punar Vivah is all about being brave, giving life a second chance and making new beginnings in search of love and happiness. The treatment of the show is positive, progressive and mature. It's not a preachy show that aims to propagate remarriage or drive in a serious, social message. It's an intelligent, sensitive look at all that two people go through in readjusting to a new partner after already being used to the ways of one. It is as much about how their children cope with the upheaval."

At present, Sony entertainment television's fiction show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain is leading the 10.30 pm slot on weekdays.

Motwani added, "There have been many good shows that have run well on different channels in the same time slot. Pavitra Rishta and Bidaai have run simultaneously at 9 pm slot and both were loved by the audience. So, it depends on the show's concept. If it's good and will interest audience, they will come along."

The channel plans to launch Punar Vivah with an aggressive, interactive marketing campaign that will stir up discussions amongst the viewers about the issue of remarriage through a judicious mix of outdoor, print and electronic media.

Gurmeet Chaudhary and Kratika Sengar are the male and female protagonists in the show.

However, no promotion was given to BBAT though!!! Reason given - no sponsors!!!

How unfair and prejudiced!!!

Is that the reason given by Motwani that there were no sponsors for BBAT? What a bunch of crap this guy is dishing out! UGH!
And what about international viewers...

I agree, I have not seen any proper promotion of BBAT on Zee. Most of the people do not know that it runs. Will be verry sorry if it ends now. since the story is at a very intresting turn of events. Why cant the channel put it at an earlier slot and give an Agresive promotion?

I know what you mean Azuria...but the long extended Neelu track didn't help matters!
Call Zee or Motwani or Talpade if you get through and give them a piece of your mind!
Never know may help!

This is heart breaking... we have been fighting for this show. From emailing Zee Tv! to calling. Showing them the petition, voting on that website and so on. Even contacted advertisers to see if they would promote the show! Thing is we are still fighting like a bunch of troopers... we have made friends who we consider sisters and brothers.. I would think this show has made such a impact on so many of us. And hell I got into the show watching it in subtitles. I even ordered Zee tv just so I can watch this show. Granted I watch the other shows as well. But Bhagonwali has put such impact for me and I take it to heart. As do many of us! And it just kills me to know this is going on. While every other show is going through a complete train wreck. We put up with everything from this show when it was going through it's mayhem with Nilu! And now we get this after we have a story line.

Why can't they just put this show on a different time slot? Why not put the news on a later time? I mean come on now!?!?!? This is frustrating… it's like they completely ignore us… and they know we are trying to fight the good fight with them! Even gave them compliments for having the show stay on for a few more weeks. They have a cancelled show Jhansi Ki Rani airing at 6:30 pm est time. And they cannot move the show to that time!!! Mind you they show that same darn commercial about Dr. Tea every day it is to the point where I can act out the entire commercial and I do not even speak Hindi! Amazing!! They can even air it the next day!! A day delayed would be ok with me. Something. But no… they still ignore! What the heck do we need to do? Make flyers and pass it to everyone under the sun!??!?!?
