Manish Wadhwa – Best Actor on TV!

It was never going to be easy playing Chanakya but was a challenge well accepted by Manish Wadhwa. He not only did justice to the role but is now also acknowledged as one of the best actors we have on Television. At the recently held Apsara Awards, Manish Wadhwa bagged the award for Best Actor - Drama, for portraying the historic character of Chanakya on Imagine TV's historical saga - Chandragupta Maurya.

In less than a year of its launch, the show Chandragupta Maurya has found a place in the hearts of people of all age groups. Chandragupta Maurya is the story of trials and tribulations, of vulnerability of human emotions, of relationships and most importantly of mistakes, wars and conquests. It charts the journey of how from being a regular slave, Chandragupta catapulted to becoming the first emperor under the guidance of Chanakya who is also considered to be the architect of Chandragupta's rise to power at a young age.

Sharing his initial reaction, an excited Manish Wadwa said, 'I am extremely thrilled and humbled to receive my first television award and would like to thank my audience who have been with me in my endeavor of essaying one of the most authoritative characters of Indian history. I am equally thankful to Imagine TV and Sagar Productions for having the faith in me and selecting me for this role.'
