Super long, super involved commentary probably lets you know how I feel about the episode without me having to tell you ;)
Good Points
-Khushi unconsciously telling Arnav that he does matter to her and the she was worried about him. His little eyebrow raise during her tirade showed that he obviously knew it but he's slightly surprised she's admitting it so easily. Arnav's definitely the type that wants to hear the words rather than have them expressed to him.
- Just like there's an Arnav and an ASR character I definitely think there's also a Khushi/Khushi Kumari Gupta dichotomy going on. KKG knows that she's affected by Arnav and that she has a right to be informed about his comings and goings and so tells him so quite clearly. Khushi however is still unsure as to what this entire thing is about and why she gets so flustered around him.
-When Anjali arrives Arnav looks from her back to Khushi, and he's slightly annoyed by her concern intruding on his moment with Khushi. But he uses it to his advantage to make Khushi aware that his disappearance was intentional and had the desired result of making her admit that she missed him. Then he watches her go up the stairs, that knowing look in his eye, he knows there's something there but now he needs to make her admit even more.
-Payal calling Anjali 'Di' for the first time was so sweet. Can't wait until Khushi does the same!
-How much do you want to bet Arnav's never going to delete that voicemail? The way he says Khushi doesn't show surprise or even arrogance but rather concern that she was so stressed out and worried. Concern that definitely wasn't evident when Anjali was telling him how worried she was.
-All of Arnav's actions lately are so slow, measured, thought out rather than the rash decisions that he used to make in anger as ASR. I love the new Arnav we're getting (although I still think it was a bit of a 360 turn) with all his smirks and smiles and innuendos.
-When he says 'in your name?' there's this indulgent smile he gives as he folds his arm and waits for what crazy way she'll manage to find an A in her name that is just gorgeous!
-The sudden jealousy regarding NK is also a surprise but a welcome one if that's the effect it has on him. Khushi also seems to notice the jealousy and uses it against him which I thought was super cute although I still feel for NK, stuck in the middle of their love story. Arnav also gives her a side-eye look when leaving the table, showing his irritation towards her that I have no idea how she or anyone else missed.
-NK and his camcorder! Possible way of exposing Shyam? Or maybe exposing Arnav and Khushi?
-The scene in the pool with the kangan was reminiscent of the wedding game where the couple have to find a ring in the bowl of liquid to decide who has power in the relationship. It's interesting that the first time Arnav takes it out of the water, then they hold hands and then second time Khushi does. Showing that the balance will switch and move back and forth between them rather than just residing with one person. So you can also view it in terms of the show. At first Arnav had power in their equation, right now they're going to be together and then pretty soon after the Shyam fiasco it's possible Khushi will have power.
-When Arnav says 'you can't do everything yourself' I think its foreshadowing something larger. While Khushi's family* and even Arnav's expect Khushi to do everything he's here saying, no you can't. Sometimes you need help and all you have to do Khushi, is realise that I'm here and willing to provide it.
-When he says 'Are you okay?' to me the tone implied that although he knew it was just water and she was more than alright, he felt duty bound (as her future hubby dearest) to ask if she was okay anyway rather than any real concern.
-'Why are you so scared?' The second time he's asked this or I wouldn't have put much store into the question but I think Arnav genuinely doesn't want Khushi to be afraid of him anymore and he's annoyed that she still is despite his changed nature in the past couple of days.
-Therefore I think this new little bet is his own personal way of making her get over her fear of him, by doing something she never would have even dared to do in the past not only because they didn't share that type of relationship but also because he might have killed her for it.
Bad Points
-Why can't Akash even look at Payal's mehndi? I've never heard of that being abshagun before.
-Who is going to finally give Mami the slap she deserves? I can't even be bothered to review her scenes.
-Khushi's mehndi has gone from being on to washed off so many times in the last two episodes. Blooper heaven.
-Why was Khushi attacking her hand with a knife? Planning to cut off the skin? When she's in the kitchen, the mehndi is already stained rather than drying so a knife won't work. She'd be better off with soap and water.
-There were so many other moments between NK and Khushi that Arnav could have also flashbacked to which would have made his jealousy not so sudden and out of the blue.
-*Buaji, STOP making Khushi do things! Yes on this occasion we got a great scene with Arnav and Khushi but they really take advantage of Khushi, even when it seems like she's uncomfortable doing something everyone still practically forces her to do it. Akash was standing right there, so was Hari Prakash so why did Khushi have to be the one to go?
I also wrote an OS post today's episode. Hopefully you'll like it! OS: Whatever Arnav Wants...
