Bhandarkar offers Ujjaini/Aishwarya a chance to record a song

Fifteen weeks of a journey to crown the best musical jodi has come to an end. Guest at the finale held in Dubai, film director Madhur Bhandarkar announced that Ujjaini and Aishwarya will be recording a song for an album to be premiered on 6 July. The music composer of Corporate Shamit Tandon also offered Banjyotsana and Sharib, the chance to record a song for an album this week.

Zee TV business head Puneet Goenka and Zee Arabiya MD and CEO Yogesh Radhakrishnan handed over the trophies to the jodis. Apart from this, Ujjaini and Aishwarya have taken home a music contract worth Rs 50 lakh and the most advanced version of a Lenovo laptop each. A local sponsor presented the winning jodi with a cheque of 10, 000 dirhams and the runner's up a cheque of 5,000 dirhams.

As evident was the jubilation felt by Ujjaini/Aishwarya, it was absolute shock for Banjotsana/Sharib. Seeing the jodis from the very beginning, Ishitta had bonded with all the jodis. She was seen crying, whilst hugging Sharib, pacifying him that no one went home a loser after getting this opportunity. Bipasha Basu was also seen consoling Banjyotsana as she and Sharib were being awarded their prizes.

A special memento was given to Hariharan by Goenka and he also accepted another one on behalf of Leslie Lewis. Hariharan remarked that he missed Lewis's company and that the journey of last 15 weeks will be treasured by both as a very special memory. Rohit and Ishitta mingled with friends and relatives of both jodis, sitting in the audience, gauging their pulse on who was most likely to win.

Its raining offers for these jodis ever since they've been part of Sa Re Ga Ma.Composer Aadesh Srivastav has already got Ujjaini to sing in the film Alag. Ujjaini and Challenge 2005 finalist Hemachandra have sung a song for the same film. Shaan and Kunal Ganjawala are the other singers in the album. Ujjaini sings the soundtrack Saanjh Ki Pighalti.

Rajeev and Sanchali, too, have got a chance in a lifetime. The Groovy Gurus were impressed by their talent and when they were voted out by the public, arranged for them to be trained by Hariharan's guru, the legendary musician Ghulam Mustafa Khan Saheb. The veteran musician has also trained stalwarts like Shaan and Sonu Nigam. Rajeev has also sung for a composition by Aadesh Srivastav for an untitled film.

"Both jodis are going to be names to watch out for. My music directors Anand Sharma and Anujj Kappu have worked very hard in training them to realize their true potential. My instinct tells me that they are going to make me proud," says director Gajendrra Siingh.

Both, Ujjaini/Aishwarya and Banjyotsana/Sharib have it in them to make their mark in the world of playback singing, adding to the long list of singers who have seen success coming out from the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa platform.
