Bhabo's gameplan is obvious.
The moment Bhabasa said 'Suraj supports his wife because she is his wife. Just like you are my wife and I support you.' The look on Bhabo's face.
She wants Suraj under her thumb, she fears Sandhya's influence. Recall back to the beginning her hysterics when he bought a chain. This woman will never let Suraj wife get near him.
Her response to Bhabasa was a mistake was done, she will never ever let an educated girl be her son's wife because she will make him feel inferior. She will continually use this to fight with Sandya. Poor Suraj will struggle being in the middle. What Bhabo fails to even understand is that her son is a decent man. He at least knows that marriage is not a game and that actually his mother is in the wrong.
Her argument isn't because she fears Sandhya will be dominating, oh no. What she cannot bear nor forget or forgive is that SURAJ WENT AGAINST HER when he refused to let Sandhya leave the house. I think she even dreams about it (as a nightmare). In that instance he went against her and that is the thorn in her heart. If he could do that after so many days of marriage, imagine him doing more after 6 months/ 1 year/ 10 years...Bhabo as a controlling woman will not tolerate that at all.
So let the Saas-bahu war commence!
