Calling someone Hitler is a big deal. It's offensive if you want to think that 50-70 million people died during World War II, which he started. At least six million Jewish people alone perished. India at that time was part of the British Empire, and between 1.5 and 2.5 million Indians died during this conflict.

General Didi is just as good as HD. It ensures that no ones sentiments are hurt. Just imagine how we would feel if someone made a show and called in honor of General Dyer, the murderer and man in charge at the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre in Amritsar on April 13, 1919?

I'm not trying to upset anyone or trying to be rude/mean, but it's best to have all the facts as to why the name was changed in the areas outside India, so one can fully understand.

Personally I don't mind the show being called General Didi. I don't have problem with the show being called Hitler Didi either. It doesn't offend me because understand culture context the word is being used.
The funny part, it that the show is still called Hitler Didi in Europe. You think they would mores sensitive than USA, since Hitler's crimes occur there. I think Americans are too sensative - I am saying this as a American too.
However I hate Zeetv USA beeping out the characters saying Hitler Didi - it is so annoying. Why can they slience the word or something less annoying. But then again Zeetv USA is the worse. All they care about pleasing the advertisers not their customers 🤢

I think it's because they always try to be "politically correct".
I don't think that's a big issue in India though.
